It would actually cost him a tiny fraction and he'd wash his hands clean of this. I mean, I wouldn't trust him with a Satoshi ever again, but he would have paid the BTC back. Strange world this BTC world...

Huh, you're right - the whole thing went belly up before the exponential rise in November 2013, actually shortly before that. I still can't believe that happened. I always thought he was an honest guy and even believed his excuses for a month or so...

This space is a lesson, in how fragile and shallow peoples initial intentions can be, when some shit hits the fan.
Always judge a man, not for the shit that happens, but how he deals with it.
Jon lied to most of us, or was too weak-willed to be honest with the facts, publicly. Shame.

The other side to this, is the fact that the people he owes the most money too, have not been calling for his head (except Lophie!). Deals done in the background, maybe??

the Ukyo's expressions about lost btc's were nearly same as Karpeles' ones. if the theory of Karpeles' involvement into SR is correct and btcs are confiscated by US gov then we still have the chance to get them back.

Funny you mention that, because Jon and Mark are/were good friends, and have spent much time in each others company.

Go figure.

An SEC or criminal investigation would be great to see here. Has anyone filed a complaint to the SEC? I have not followed the situation that closely but I found this link:

http://www.sec.gov/complaint.shtml

I see that quite a bit of information is known about Ukyo and I know there were a few people affected by this scam who kept close tabs on the entire situation. If GAW/Paycoin can attract an SEC investigation, then this debacle definitely should.

And Jon at some point worked together with Danny "Neo&Bee" Brewster

Academic interest in bitcoin only. Not owner, not trader, very skeptical of its longterm success.

Perhaps they held monthly kaffe klatches where the met to share laughs and new successful techniques in bilking the bitcoin faithful.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

I've been convicted of heresy. Convicted by a mere known extortionist. Read my Trust for details.

Deals done in the background, maybe??
Well I haven't seen/heard anything (unfortunately) and he still owes me 100+  Undecided

I still believe that the following IRC-log from December 17, 2013, is the best clue we have to what happened:
Code: (#weex)
<Ukyo> been fighting gox to coorolate things
<Ukyo> to find out exactly whats what on those orders
<Ukyo> er..
<Ukyo> >,>
<Ukyo> <,<
<Ukyo> i am going to shut up now.
It was written out of context and clearly in the wrong chat.

Trading on Gox was always a thing that i thought was possible that ukyo and Great could have been playing around with but would they really have been doing that unless ukyo were garanteed by the the ceo, his friend that there they would get there funds out when gox went under, it was very obvious that things werent as it should on gox for a very long time and even if the gox mess was the big reason why ukyo cant access a big part of his funds, how would that explain his claims that he cant talk about it, it just dosent add up i think.

Do we know what specific orders he is referring to, in that chat?
I think he had received official notification from the powers-that-be, in December. Think thats why he 'cant talk about it'. Considering Burnside has settled his legal battle, we can assume Jon has as well......unless the powers-that-be are further investigating why/how he 'lost' 1000's of peeps coins......they bloody well should be!

the reason I believe he is going to be murdered and his family hurt really badly in the future is because he did not even give an explanation.

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...
