Hi everyone,

anyone tried to modify a Switch from Cisco or any other manufacturer to mine some Bitcoins?
There are ASIC Chips in there, so mining should be possible i think.

It won't work to mine Bitcoins. ASIC stands for Application-Specific Integrated Circuit. Manufactures develope these to due a piece of hardware certain jobs to perform.

the Bitcoin ASIC are for that only. To mine Bitcoins.

ASIC for Cisco is make to move network traffic faster and error free.

Some older switches had FPGA chips in them. You can mine with the switch if you can find right bitstream =)
