Pull requests are welcome, yes. I do not mean to come off as condescending, I'm just slightly miffed at how impatient everyone is being about this whole situation. Hardforks like this are a logistical issue, not a technical issue.

There was nothing wrong with what you submitted; it would have worked fine with a few tweaks. It's just that I had the code already done way you before you even submitted it. I was just waiting to figure out what block number to have the fork happen at.

Guys, let's take a chill pill please. We all like SBC and we should cherish the fact that it's finally pulling through. Cobra, I personally think that you did something great and I thank you. Artos, thanks for taking time out of your holidays to take care of this. You're both great Smiley

It's all good... just frustrated to see the aftereffects. I can't speak for everyone but it's just a communication thing for me. We were told there was a fix coming on December 24th... when I hear that, I schedule around that time. Some of us have stepped up to provide supporting infrastructure to the community in the form of pools and block explorers. These have real costs associated with them and I think everyone was hoping for a more prompt resolution to the issue. Instead, to most people it was interpreted as nonchalant.

Communication is key. We need more of it... it's one of the underpinnings spoken of on the StableCoin synopsis: open development and free-moving communication.

I see a future in this coin but we just need more communication from @artos. The strongest coins out there have open, expressive developers behind them. StableCoin should hold itself to the same standard.

I've passed the news to http://sbc.nordicminers.eu

The sad truth is there are still pools running on the wrong "prior to 1.4" chain out there with quite a few people mining completely worthless shares Sad One I have in mind doesn't even have contact details for the pool owner.

Another fork now, while necessary and I understand that, will add to the overall confusion

Thanks for the update artos

The pool is now running v1.5. Thanks for the headsup Smiley

It is mentioned above;

Cryptsy has been scrod a couple times by client updates causing forks; they apparently prefer now to stop trading in a coin before a client upgrade  happens, then reconnect afterward.

you can expect it to appear back later.

I agree, this is looking to be 1 of the more promising coins out there. I also like to compliment Artos on his work and dedication.
Regarding the behaviour of the coin market, it seems that the focus currently sits at releasing a new large volume coin as soon as possible, get it to a good trading place to make as much money as possible. So I guess the big question we need to tackle is: How do we distinguish ourselves from those coins. And not only technically but also on other stuff. If you take a look at for example lotto coin you will see that they are creating games for that coin. Although this happens for more coins, it shows that more people get involved in the process of making a coin succesfull.
It might also help Artos if he would work together with someone who can take on the communication and becomes an other face for the StableCoin.
But off course any input on how to promote and keeping in touch with this coin will help a lot. We can also think about putting some coins together and hand them to people inputting good suggestions and such. (like LottoCoin is doing)

just my 2 cents.

My coins are there. The market is open. You can buy/sell. But, SBC is missing from the balance.
Also, I transferred 2000 SBC to my son as a present yesterday and they have still not confirmed Sad

Crypsty is most likely waiting for the new v1.5 on block 317000 before adding it again.
This to make sure the same issues, like after the last fork, won't happen again.

Wow wish I got that many.

They will verify after that block 317000 like the poster above me said. Exchanges like to do that sometimes. If you didn't do it trough exchange than there is a problem.

But, isn't it a bit odd that Cryptsy is still allowing buying and selling? Why would a transfer of SBC from one persons account to another persons account be more hazardous than an actual exchange of SBC/BTC?

^ This

All, this coin, developer, and community has GREAT potential.  Let's let the guys work out the issues and you just mine and build your wallet in the meantime.  If you want to criticize, just make your own alt.  As for me, I will be sticking with SBC.

Great work artos!   Wink

Imagine the scenario of a person running an old client and attempting to deposit coins from that client into Cryptsy... not gonna show up. Probably going to lead to a support request of some sort. The same can be said for a withdrawal... and that's *really* going to lead to a number of support requests.

Now, imagine it's more than just one person who's going to go through this. Probably smarter to let things settle out before allowing deposits/withdrawals. As for internal trading, they can continue to do that because it's all internal accounting... not shuffling of coins from one wallet to another.

When I learned about the fork I stopped mining. And maybe for the best. I was mining at stablecoin.miners-pool.eu but the difficulty they report vs my wallet is way off, so I guess i'll change pool to be sure:)

I was on the same pool - it looks like it has not been updated to 1.4, note even mentioning 1.5 + no contact details for pool owner
I moved to sbc.nordicminers.eu which runs stable and has already been upgraded to 1.5

I see a nice increase on Cryptsy, maybe worth buying a few thousand.

If you cant deposit or withdrawl at cryptsy it means only the few thousands SBC ppl have on cryptsy are being traded. If this lasts 5 more days the price is gona rise gigantic. But be ware after deposits are able again the price will fall.
