The ICO market should be moving to ethical hardcap. Arent we being taken for a ride with those huge marketcaps of blockchain TGEs?
How much does it cost (labour time and eth) to build a blockchain? Surely not 30000 ETH. We need normalisation of the ICO marketplace.
Dont invest into projects asking more than 10-15mln
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

making a blockchain is easy,

having the funds to move your way through the corrupt system to get attention is however very difficult.

coinmarket cap doesnt list cryptocurrencies if you dont pay at least 20k to the coinmarket cap website owners.

same is with media channels exchanges etc.everything ist corrupt,

only ripple was able to print so much money that they were able to create their listening and presence everywhere, they basically abused the trust the society is forced to put in them.

because of the high level of corruption i expect soon the entire market to break and divide with a new market emerging with new exchange system opposing the established one just as they did with the banks beforehand.

Most of it could be just marketing. You can develop a blockchain but users will never come to use it without expensive marketing. No, without expensive marketing.

From the other side, most of the nowadays crypto projects are not really building a blockchain, just parasitize on Ethereum instead.

What would be the benefit of creating your own blockchain rather than parasitizing on Ethereum? Most projects that are backed by ETH use tools like HyperLedger Fabric V1 to create permissioned-based blockchains. If a project creates their own blockchain, could that blockchain be permissioned-based from the start?

Well, if you create a product - you need not only to create it, but to develop, promote it and etc. what's more, much depends on the country of the project's origin and whether there are professionals to implement all the ideas. Specialists also cost much

I think to build a blockchain will not be so expensive if you have the ability for that, it will be expensive perhaps if need someone else with proven capability and well known name. Cost will be higher for others, specially marketing and build infrastructure such as networking, attending event (this should be included into marketing) get listing in top exchange, etc. In principle, the most important thing is the cost to build trust along community.

only to build is near zero cost. provided you got your own pc to do so.

the catch is you need other department to support. A team of IT personel to run the blockchain, developers team, marketing to run campaign, various consultant advicing on legals, finance etc stuff. all come with big cost.

i would say to make a blockchain successful, you probably needs millions to do so.

It is quite unfortunate that people are abusing this new technology and promoting the same corruption we said the institution are guilty of. Building a blockchain is not expensive and the tools to use are not so expensive that some group of guys with basic computer skills will decide to conduct ICO of over 50 million US Dollar. Like someone rightly said, if this trend is not checked, the blockchain system will be so ridden with corruption and extortion that governments will intervene with harsh measures.

you dont have to build a blockchain, its actually very cheap, there are blockchain encription services like ethereum, neo, and waves.

they are basically the equivalent like the medieval coin mintings, everyone can create their token there. and its not expensive,

for example a digital asset on the waves platform costs just around 8 usd

I quite agree to what you said because most of the fund the ICO owners or team needed are not mainly for the blockchain creation but for the evangelize of the project as well and good marketing strategy is the medicine of project success.

Interesting information,  been keen on using block chain to solve a few issues and start a new coin however is quite an overwhelming task. Never the less i'm slowly learning it's possible.

With determination, patience it's possible to make something out of it by the sound.  However clear that if you interested in mass adoption your going to need some serious investments at some point.

Perhaps work on the project for a year or so, establish it slowly etc and once achieved if the idea is unique invite investors over...

best wishes

Well they are the biggest and you might not like them, I respect that, but your 'bitcoin centered sect' argument seems far-fetched to me.

Plus, to get a currency listed there, you claim they have to pay a 20k fee? That's false.

Building a Blockchain can be costly or cheap. It depends on what is purpose of Blockchain. For commercial level you need a great team. For personal purpose a simple blockchain can be build by a Single person.

As for me that I think if we want to cost building a blockchain  by the way transaction fees are decided in most cryptocurrencies today, Chepurnoy said, users are incentivized to overuse some data, making blockchain full node software grow and become more cumbersome to spin up and run - which he argues is a bad thing, since full nodes are the most secure way to interact with the bitcoin network. Beside that we must work hard to build a blockchain.

Isn't that sounds a bit vague ?  It all depends on what OP implies as "Build a Blockchain".If he means he has to set every algorithm up from scratch, certainly it isn't easy or a $10 job.I understand if forking from a chain is what you meant but still creating it from scratch is no child's play.

Building a blockchain is free - only pay for what resources you use.

That's new! Does AWS really gives anything for free ? Nope. Also if it's controlled on the S-3 or their Cloud servers, pretty sure the app will centralised as hell.

I've been following BitClave project. They're developing a decentralized monetized search engine. They use Ethereum for that. Once I heard they were asked about other blockchains and answered they could build it's own blockchain if it's needed. I wonder how many developers are required for this?

still established fiats, open lots of doors, there are theoretically 30.000 cryptocurrencies out there. are 30.000 listed on coinmarketcap? no! because coinmarketcap runs an agenda of establishmentists. the USD ranking itself is already biased.

but i have doubts cryptoeconomics will be able to continue just like that with coinmarketcap + exchange plattform listed coins, and rest of population as their money earning cattle

Blockchain-based applications can cost you a huge investment in the initial stage but it is surely going to bring you a fortune of returns in the future. When looking for one that you can invest in for getting a Blockchain based Cryptocurrency, Coinnup can definitely be a good option. Coinnup ICO has an ethical Hardcap of $21,000,000 USD. But if you have a smaller investment amount in mind then you can surely start with the Soft Cap amount of $2,000,000 USD.

When you have an outstanding blockchain idea, you need a mastermind for your outstanding project,  you need an expert and not just looking for something cheap. Giving it to a freelancer because they are charging cheap may not give you what you need. And they may not handle the project with care or enthusiasm. But it's still possible to find a professional who will charge cheaply and do a perfect work.
