My vote? Peercoin. Briefly touched 80m already, community is starting to boom, 100m+ by 2014 seems very possible.

I'd say Peercoin.  Bitshares might also be a contender.

Either anoncoin or securecoin......

I only have half a dozen anoncoins so I don't really care that much.... I wish I had bought a bunch of LTC before the price soared! Oh, wait, I did! 17 of them!

Who could have expected litecoin to go up so rapidly? Literally everyone! I expected litecoin to go to 0.1 BTC longterm at the very least. Now we're almost halfway there!

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

I feel like Zerocoin will blow Anoncoin out of the water.

Peercoin and My Mom are both deadlocked!!?! Who will win this epic battle!?

I'll look up zerocoin....

I'll be honest, I voted for your mom for lack of SRC or ANC on that list.

That options seems to be functioning as the "other" option.

EDIT:  Now I saw there is an actual "other" option...

Seems logical to me that Primecoin will be next. It's the only alt with an actual scientific application behind it and it cannot have a direct competitor. It's easy enough to rehash block chains and put a new coin out but there is no reason to put out a competitive prime calculating coin.

Just my 2 XPM.

MegaCoin will easily be giving other currencies a run for their money in the near future.  Keeping in mind I am referring to market cap and ACTUAL USE AS A CURRENCY and not a speculation wagon.  Next year I believe people will begin to hear of MegaCoin before hearing of Bitcoin.  Most alternatives exist as the second-wheel to BTC; where most come to the alternative by way of the main route (BTC); I believe MegaCoin will break that trend.

Peercoin is my guess from what's out now, ZeroCoin however sounds very intriguing.

Have you checked out the wallet?

Seriously, it's awesome!  Just about every other coin is using the same gui bitcoin has used since it was made.

From a user perspective, that's one of the few noticeable differences between other coins at the moment.  It has an innovative difficulty algo called kimoto gravity well that allows it to have a fast difficulty switch (every block) while remaining resistant to multipools and not suffering from difficulty lock.  From a mining perspective, it makes it much more stable to mine during large hash rate fluxations (like multipool or another big miner joining/leaving)  Other coins have began adopting it.  This isn't nearly as important when the coin grows and gets a large hash rate, but in the early-medium stages it's crucial for the coin mining wise.

It has a large community that are already making services for it, such as payment processors and other things.  Lots of big things planned from the megacoin community, but you have to research it more to find out what. They've already translated the wallet and website in many languages.

Future wise Kimoto has been working on implementing coinjoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279249.0 (which is a better then zerocoin) into megacoin.  To me the potential here is big, because it could be the first actual anonymous cryptocurrency.

As for the topic, peercoin, megacoin, grid coin, and maybe curecoin all have high potential.

Protoshares, holding Bitshares will earn you dividends, Protoshares is now over 8 million in  just under a month from when it launched (22 days), under 1 million coins minted, when Bitshares launches if your holding PTS you will be issued Bitshares 1-1, you will then have 1 of each, at launch of Bitshares you might see the price spike to 50 USD, be a great time to exchange your coins for PTS and take advantage of speculators investing in something that gives a real return.

Send me a message if you need me to respond to a post, or just send me some  $ADA in an amount that will get my attention = addr1qx7g7vzjtk9mcljxjy0vnewaljk33m67d227d95rsak8mmjdq5erwjygc05l6vftwdzy9qd3t4 9spl5kw5k6684gfawqw9r87w

I would agree with this. Protoshares will spawn into BitShares, and this will open up new far-ranging possibilities for decentralised exchange.

I also invested some BTC in Megacoin. The website looked really good, the client is something new and I believe that the creator "Kimoto" is actually Kim Dotcom. The dude with more than 100 million on his bank account.

Therefore I am sure he has the funds and the time to make this coin a success. I would recommend all to buy at least 5000 or 10000 while they are still cheap.

The fact that 50% of Megacoin's supply was mined in 5 months and the next 50% will take a few decades seems like a massive scam to me. The ramp up in difficulty around the time of 'adoption' seems like it is designed to help creators and the earliest adopters - I.e. - Scam.
