Ignore them. Then wait for the cloud of smug you can float around on when they’re at $2000.

I got a few jealous friends with all kinds of good advice. I've already profited from Bitcoin no matter what happens.

Chances are your friends don't know more about Bitcoin than the average journalist, so don't follow their advice, but your own gut.

So now I am hoping LTC will have the same succes,

There's a good chance it will. Keep hold of 'em. You could spend a little on some of the other up and coming cryptos if you can afford it. It's worth the gamble.

I have been mining since mid 2010. I spent as I wnet and reinvested in mining gear when BTC = $200. Insult to injury, I passed on my wife's endorsement to invest $1K when BTC was $2  Sad

I could have been a millionaire but I did what was right at the time.

Now with a fist full of coins (<5 BTC) I hang on with grim determination for the $100K per BTC mark.

"Why dont you AT LEAST cash out your initial investment?!  You're crazy!  So what if its 40% of your current balance, and you'll cut your coin count in half!!"

Me:  You don't get it.

"Take out your initial investment and a little more as a reward for you"

Me:  You don't get it.

"If you cashed out some now, you would probably make up for it in gains over the next week anyways!"

Me:  You don't get it.

"There's got to be a specific number at which you are going to pull the rip cord dude!"

Me:  You don't get it.

"What if it goes to zero?"

Me:  LOL ...

I try explaining what bitcoin is, they think it's a "scam' lol.  I don't get how that's possible when the currency is decentralized.
Anyways, I told them to buy a couple like me when the price was at $120 USD, and of course they changed the subject in like, 2 seconds.

It's so funny now that I compare what others say; I have come to a consensus.

In the world, there are only 2 types of people:

People who understand bitcoin
People who think bitcoin is an even uglier paypal

That's it, really.

Same. ever since it finally got back up to $10 people been telling me "Just cash out man, that's like X dollars dude!" And although I have cashed out a lot along the way, for a very low average price, that X just keeps on growing.

I've now stopped selling bitcoin for fiat. I will now only exchange bitcoin for goods, services, someday taxes? and other crypto-currencies if I think they have merit. (very happy that litecoin was able to gain against bitcoin while bitcoin has been gaining against the dollar.)

Everyone I talk to says this to me also, and I don't talk about Bitcoin all that much because it got tiresome watching and listening to peoples reactions. But they still know the price of BTC and are bringing it up and telling me to sell, LOL, yeah not happening. My one friend talks about Bitcoin with everyone, they were laughing at him for years after I brought him onboard in 2011, telling him to sell every couple dollars, now they all shake their heads and he laughs at them.

My mother wants me to cash out, butI told her to shut up. She does not udnerstand why I dont do it. The reason? I dont want fiat Smiley

My friends also saying thinsg like "take you initial investent out" but i dont do that. BTC needs to drop below 80 USD before I loose money Wink
I told them to shut up and say that they can look forwad to a party when BTC hits 1000 USD. So now... I need to throw them a party Wink

I remember telling this kid to buy a few back when it was $5. He never did. I'm certainly not going to bring it up now.

Yeah friends were jumping up and down to sell at $400. It's like you're so eager to sell, no wonder you don't even have coins you can sell. That said we will correct and correct hard. In 2011 it went down 94% from the peak. I doubt we'll get lucky enough to see another one of those now but 50% down in an hour is realistic. A lot more people have become educated to see those as buying opportunities now though.

50% is possible from the current price.
even 75% is possible if we go to 2000 USD in a couple of days.

I have the feeling that this is the same sentiment as the moment we went through the 100 USD barrier. It was after a period of fast grow in value in a few weeks. We finally broke through 100 USD very fast. So maybe it is april all over again and we go to 2000? 2660? USD and than crash towards 500 USD...

Time will tell...
