I Give Up!!!

I am so, so frustrated! I just want to get some bitcoins! I have registered with Cryptsy and BTCe and I get messages like this...please choose how you would like to deposit money into an account, egopay, interkassa.com, perfect money, okpay, ecoin, etc! Oh and BTW, sorry for not mentioning this fifty steps ago, but if you are based in the USA we don't want to do business with you! WTF? Interkassa is a Russian site, doesn't help me for jack! I already signed up with coinbase and they said they deposited the two small amounts today about 15 hrs ago, but I haven't received it yet, have to wait till after Tgiving when businesses open up I guess.
  My complaint is there are so many hurdles and hoops to jump over and through that it just makes btcs so damn hard to acquire! I actually created a wallet, so waiting to fill it up fer crying out loud! I just wish there was a way to simply say "here is my card # and I would like to purchase $1000 worth of BTC. Tick tock, tick tock, boom! The coins are in my wallet! Thank you very much! Simple!
  I got stuck in btcquick's miicard verification process where they ask you for your banking password and username and I won't do that and it says "fine, no coins for you." I tried localbitcoins but just can't seem to find a way to buy them.
  Also, did I mention I am trying to buy BTCs and probably LTCs on my iPad? Maybe the mobile devices don't work and I am missing buttons like "buy bitcoins with cash" on my mobile format? Buy bitcoins with cash button said it was there from an article on the blockchain.info website.


Any help for a beyond stupid and beyond help, wanting to buy BTCs newbie? Thanks so much you guys and for listening to me vent. -CZ

coinbase. You can purchase using USD on btce too but you have to jump through a lot of hoops. I don't think cryptsy even deals in anything other than crypto though. CampBX is good for buying but I wouldn't sell on there.

You can't buy Bitcoins with Credit Card, because after you recieve the Bitcoins you can easily just contact your bank/card issuer, and dispute the claims. Say your card was stolen, or that you didn't recieve what you paid. The seller is now out $1000 and there is nothing they can do about it.

I sell coins from time to time, but I sell for cash either locally, or have people send me cash in the mail, but absolutely nothing chargebackable. I've had a few people even try and bounce checks on me, trying to pressure me into sending the coins days before the checks bounced.

Pretty much what Sality said and you can't use paypal or you will get chargebacks so the only real ways to do it are Cash
Wire Transfer or Online Banking between accounts if you know the person well enough
That or try to get bloody verified which is a giant PITA

I've heard an unusual amount of bad feedback about Coinbase, so I'm weary of them. While I don't think they have outright stolen anyone's money, I've heard more than a few cases of people buying at $X and then Coinbase decided to just hold the transaction until the price rose, and then they then got less BTC when the price went to $X+Y, or just decided to unverify well established and verified accounts.

Don't give up! This is just the start of something great. I had to wait as well, but it is worth it in the end   Also, try not to use the "instant" method. I heard bad things about it in Coinbase.

Because of the irreversible nature of bitcoin transactions businesses (and individuals) avoid paypal/visa etc where you can open a dispute and chargeback easily.

this was me in 2011?, I spent 2 days solid trying to by BTC, from outside the US.

I even had the plane tickets ready to go...

the price was about $5- $7 i think and it went to $32, then back to $2. I felt glad that I did't buy any and forgot about them....how stupid I was...!. I should have read more and thought more about BTC.

I should have kept trying and got on that plane to the US to do this.

I am in a really distant country and all my methods failed, tried dwolla and everything else I could find.

now its relatively easy to get, just google buy bit coins in your country, some one will sell you BTC for cash!

Moving fiat money is difficult, slow, and expensive.  Those issues are making it difficult for you to fund your account at an exchange.  Also, exchanges cannot accept reversible methods of payment because of the risk of fraud.  Also, exchanges must ask for personal information because of anti money laundering laws.  These are all problems that Bitcoin could solve.

The best bet right now for purchasing bitcoin in the U.S. is CampBX located in Atlanta.  You can send them a money order, and the funds are available for purchasing bitcoins the next day after they receive them.  Their prices are lower than most exchanges, so they are a great place to purchase.

Coinbase is not a good place to purchase.  Their rates are too high, and they have recently started the highly unethical practice of canceling your purchases if the price rises too much between the time you buy and they receive your money from your bank.  Say you buy coins at $1000.  If the price goes up in the next few days, they will cancel your purchase saying it looked like a fraudulent purchase!  You are then forced to purchase at a higher price.  In short, they are lying thieves.

Apple doesn't like Bitcoin, so they don't allow fully-featured apps on their platform.  A lot of us are boycotting all Apple products in response.

Welcome to the early adopter phase of Bitcoin!  I should warn you about two common newbie mistakes.  When it looks like the price is going up to the moon without pausing, many newbies purchase in a panic at all-time highs.  Then, when they see their first flash crash, and the price drops by 50% in 5 minutes, they sell in a panic hoping to get out before it drops to zero.  In short, they buy high and sell low.

A smarter strategy is to put in a limit buy order 15-40% below the current price and buy in during the flash crash.  The price generally recovers within a few days, then continues its climb.  You usually get in at a better price, and you are less tempted to sell low.

"Buy and hold" is the best long-term strategy.

Your best bet is to link a banking account or LocalBitcoins. Not alot of people sell BTC through Credit Cards mostly cause of privacy concerns and no reputable dealers that accept Credit cards. Don't get me wrong, you might get lucky and find someone to successfully do your transaction. I use to BTCQuick but I'm not sure if its still around anymore. You might be able to buy linden dollars and turn them into BTC, but that may be time consuming and there might be a 5% fee depending on what service yyou use.

Have you tried Virwox? They have several methods of payment, to include credit cards and Paypal. You can only deposit a small amount everyday your first 10 days, but every thirty days your limit increases. Initially they hold your BTC withdrawal request for 48 hours, but after your first few orders, it's released instantly.

Here's a link that explains the process. You'll pay a premium, around 5%, but that's a heck of a lot less than some of the prices on LBC.

Does anybody know when there will be p2p distributed exchanges available? With the multi-sig feature and the Nash equilibrium implemented it'll be easy to solve this problem.

I'll be following this thread as I'm in the same boat.  Looking for a simplistic way to get a few coins.  I guess I could ask someone I've traded with before but I'd hate to be a bother and another option is always nice.
