I want to do Translations but I have no portfolio. How do I get my first gig?!

Hey guys,
I want to start translating documents English-Spanish. I am native to both languages, and I am a Solutions Architect / Technical Consultant so Im very technical as well. I do translations at work all the time.

I have been in Crypto for almost 2 years and I am an active Miner but I just recently decided to open an account here so my status shows as Newbie.

I see that most bounties regos ask for links to previous translations but I do not have any to show, so I am never chosen. Even talking directly to Coin teams doesn't seem to help. I have talk to them and say: "Hey you are a new ICO/COIN and people do not believe in you but you want people to give your project a go right? well I am on the same boat, Try me and see!"

Can you guys recommend the best way to get exposure so I can get one job to prove myself?

In the past, I was like you.
You go to find the new Bounty program and register, , in the Previous Translations you have entered "this is my first translation" or whatever you want. Someone will choose you. good luck.

I guess you could do some translations for free, and then ask them to vouch for them if they think you did a good job, you can build up a bit of a portfolio that way. Working for free is obviously going to be annoying, but it might be worth it in the long run.

Also,

I do translations at work all the time.

Why not include those in your portfolio?

Another idea could be doing some translation work on a site like https://www.xbtfreelancer.com/ where you get paid in btc, but more importantly can add some work/experience to your name. Might be worth a shot.

You could try your luck on bountyhive although I'm not sure if they're accepting newbies but it says none of that sort on the rules and guidelines. I just confirmed with one of their staffs that a previous work/portfolio is not a prerequisite to be accepted. And yeah, it seems a couple of jr. members with no prior experience had already given a chance.
