Anyone already ordered one or more of these miners? If yes, any problems with the order?

to order not, but delivery will be at the end of June

I ordered one with PSU using $420 coupon and paid with LTC.

Only problem was LTC transfer was late like it took 3 hours.

And while waiting for confirmation the order expired.

But later BIMAIN fixed my order valid and paid.

So no trouble. My last A3 was arrived with one hashboard dead and took more than 2 months
to have one board for self repair, which was terrible purchase .

This time I hope all board works fine.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

So why hasn't this sold out yet?

They must have a lot available.
I am guessing that not being able to buy more then one per customer miight have so affect on it,other reason is that people are still carefull seing how those who ordered cryptonight asics ended with 12k$ worth paper weight/room heather.Everyone is waiting to see if there will be fork or not-eth asics sold out when vitalik said that there wont be fork

Nobody lost $12K. The miners were repriced when Monero announced the intent to change algos, and Bitmain issued refunds to equal the adjusted prices.

Any idea how noisy would the Z9 miner be?

Single fan and running 300W shouldn't be any louder than a small GPU rig. Most of the noise from other ASICs are from cheap vacuum cleaner sounding PSUs.

The Antminer Z9 Mini is rated at 68dB - typical antminers are rated at 76dB (Antminer S9).

I don't know about other companies, but almost all Bitmain ASICs don't have built in PSUs, so that's down to what you're buying. The ones they provide aren't very loud, and neither are the fans themselves; the noise comes from the chip/heatsink configurations, it's the sound that high pressure air running over a bunch of jagged edges of metal makes. The higher the power output, the more heat generated, the faster the fan, the louder the noise. Due to the space in the miner, any miner with 3 or more cards is going to be loud as heck at higher hashrates (and usually stock), because they're packed in pretty tight and the air is being pushed/pulled through constricted spaces.

On some of the older lower powered models you could solve this by replacing the single fan with a pair of low noise, lower powered fans. That worked on, say, the S5, partially because the draw was so low (under 600W) and partially because of the type of heatsink the early Bitmain ASICs used, which filled the middle compartment in an extremely long and thin metal strip config that filled the center between the pair of cards. Having only two allowed them to face each other and create a huge radiator compartment the fan cools. Newer Bitmain ASICs aren't configured like that, or at least the ones I have aren't. I have an X3, B3, and Z9 on order, so we'll see how those end up being (I'm hoping the Z9 and/or the x3 are easier to quiet than having to build a box).

Another option on a lower powered ASIC would be to remove the casing, lay the boards out, and run fans over them, but I'm honestly not sure how well that would work. In theory it should work fine.

What I do not understand is why these Asic manufactures have to only offer these noisy machines that require a separate power supply. I would be very happy if they offered a small miner that does the same hashrate as my 1070 and only uses 12 watts. I miss the USB stick miners.  Cry

Because they are not designed for home use, they are designed for industrial use, so efficiency is the engineering focus, not noise. For as many of us home miners are out there, if NONE of us bought another ASIC? The manufacturers would likely barely notice the sales dip.

Guess they weren't selling enough and want to dump before several of the coins switch algos.

Btw...link in OP will show sold out.  Have to go through new URL through BM site to get the multiple quantity option.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bitmain is the main reason for the current RAM market situation.

The available ASICs for ETHhash and EQUIhash use lots of DDR3 if I'm not mistaken. They have probably built more modern DDR4 units for a while now and are dumping the DDR3 stuff on the market while mining with the new hardware themselves.

It serves to be repeated many times...

BITMAIN IS NOT YOUR FRIEND !

They only exist to dominate mining in all aspects. They are your competitor. The only way to fight them is to develop better ASICs or make their hardware useless by forking away until they find it unprofitable to continue the chase for money. Proof Of Work coins are conceptually dead once dominated by few actors. As soon as the consensus mechanism is compromised, the blockchain has no value. Preventing someone from dominating hash power is a matter of life and death for the POW based crypto projects. Please take this into account when you make short sighted plans to buy their products and support them.

Totally agree with this mean. If bitmain sell this device something must happen in equihash.

I agree. Why should they sell those ASICs, if they could keep on mining with all that hashing power instead?

I guess they have had some chat with some equihash devs and something will happen there. Maybe a fork for most important coins is comitted long ago without smaller miners knowing? Is zcash going to be new BTC (since ZEC is based on BTC) with the z-ability?

Really uncertain here, what exactly is happening, but I am sure several people behind the scenes know (prob. zokoo is one of them) and are acting a role.

Don't get fooled by Bitmain propaganda. They took only BCH as payment for the X3 Batch 1. With shipping and PSU it cost 13,5BCH.
Refunds only offered in USD. Payout 2 months.
13,5BCH is worth now $21,600 (@$1600/BCH). Who knows where it's going to be in 2 months. Refund is only $9000, people are losing $12K or even more.

It's not propaganda, it's math. Your bill was in USD so your refund is too. If BCH had dropped in value and the reverse was the case, people would complain then too.

That sucks but that's the nature of dealing with any form of currency or investment exchange. Bitmain didn't make that decision on the fly, that is always their policy. If BCH drops below the price at time of sale by the time they issue refunds, they will still have to honor the cash value. So no, nobody lost $12K.

BITMAIN IS NOT YOUR FRIEND

ACTUALLY, PRETTY MUCH ANY COMPANY YOU BUY THINGS FROM IS NOT YOUR FRIEND

FRIENDS BRING PIZZA

There is a big difference in this case.
Normally, a producer of something (hardware) is providing a component in the value chain. They try and make a better product so you will buy it over their competitors alternatives.
In this case, Bitmain is mining themselves and they are your direct competitor. They have economic interest in destroying your economy and pushing you out of the "market". They are doing this on the grandest of scales and it's actually happening just in front of us. For a healthy market to work, there have to be more than one manufacturer (eg. Intel, AMD, Nvidia). Also, the manufacturers can not be your competitors.

As a thought experiment: Extrapolate what would happen if Intel, AMD and Nvidia took their respective resources and went all in on POW mining. Others could only buy yesteryears hardware in the shops when these companies sought fit. You could extend this for all forms of professional computing for that matter (not just stupid mining). Would there be any market for long ?  Who would be in power of those blockchain projects after a while ?   Who is in power of these companies?    How would that affect the philosophy of crypto to liberate us from central control over everything ?
