I have been having some problems getting Ubuntu to even install with my 5970 card inserted in the slot (two different motherboards checked). No problems with 5850.

Anyone can recommend the best distro for mining purposes with 5970? Thanks.

Using FC14 here, but I don't think your problem relies on Ubuntu.

If you don't own the private keys, you don't own the coins.
