As I am new to mining, I would like to ask how long it normally takes before one finds a block?

Due to the connectivity problems earlier today I lost a good 2 hours in which the difficulty seems to have exploded. When I got my QT finally up and running, diff was 56.
My Quad Core i7 has been at it ever since for the past 2-3 hours but my balance is still 0

Is that normal?

Thanks
Matt (aka mining n00b) :-)

the difficulty is crazy high will take a long time for anything if at all if my understanding is correct

Ok, after looking at http://www.rvdmarkets.com/en/ that they claim to own. They accept Visa and Mastercard to fund USD on their site.

'The «RVD Markets Limited» broker Company is registered on the British Virgin Islands in 2010 and has all necessary certificates and documents on conducting commercial activity.'

"In the Company «RVD Markets Limited» processing of payments on bank cards is carried out by the processing center PayOnline.'

If all this is true, it would allow people to buy Rvdcoin (btc too also?) with a bank card easily which would be huge.. This sites user base would explode overnight.

OP you should explain this all in better detail.

Came back to say exactly this.

OP: Are you RVD Markets Ltd. and is this your companies coin?

I guess one way to find out would be asking on http://forum-english.rvdmarkets.com/ if they know anything about this coin! Or better yet, give em a call! lol

We are working on the exchange for rvdcoin: http://www.rvdmarkets.com/en/

Wait so is this officially affiliated with that website? If so this coin just got much more interesting.

If they aren't you might want to rename or at least not use their logo.

Support says it is not a part of that company, they have an online chat if anyone wants to ask themselves.

So either the creator was hoping with the name they would decide to put it in an exchange or the support staff don't know about it yet.

If the company isn't the creator it doesn't mean the coin is dead though, I would suggest another name though if that is the case.

I am still finding blocks with my ~380k quad core so pools aren't particularly needed yet, but will be soon.

So how many blocks have the people mining found?

Anyone gotten lucky finding a bunch on here?

I've found 33 blocks so far, plus two immature and four orphans Smiley (Got to the party like two hours late, the diff was already around 40)

Here's my getpeerinfo, hope it helps someone. Can't provide a node as I'm behind heavily NAT'd network. Had no trouble connecting to network thou, just used the nodes from 1st post.
