In my observation in bitcoin price !!
I think the WHALES are the manipulators of shifting price of bitcoin and alt coins
Why?
Because whales are buying huge amount of coin, in this case there will be a sharp rise in prices and also because of this demand will increase and many investors will be able to invest, so  the outcome is,WHALES had a large profit on their money or capital, i think this is why the alternative currency increases.
and after they buy it they will sell their coins that will cause a sudden fall in its price of alt coins.

Your observation doesn't make sense guy. Because you didn't and could not point out the quantity and specific information. Everybody can say that and have a better speculation than you. As your thought, should i buy or sell btc and other coins now? Lol

Well, it has some sense, but the problem is that the only reason he gives to support his reasoning is that he thinks it is like that.

On the other hand, it is nothing he has discovered now. Whales manipulating prices, in crypto and stock markets, is a fact widely known but it only affects you if you are a trader. If you are a long-term investor and the assets you buy are good, price will keep going up in the long-term, not matter the whales.

You have a point there mate. Whales will be whales, they can manipulate the price on their favor. That's why we casuals should be cautious specially in altcoins because we don't know when those whales are going to dump to take home the profits.

As for bitcoin, they can still manipulate but for me its much harder as compare to altcoin. There are so many whales in bitcoin that most of the time it will be just a few whales who dumps the coins simultaneously or put a coordinated effort to bring the market to its knees so that they can buy it cheap later.

With a daily trading volume of more than $7,698,350,000, I think it will melt like a piece of salt in the ocean.
The price tends to be more susceptible to news and panic.

It increases because trading volume is small but will return to its real value in a few days, and this is the easiest way to catch small fish

Well for having a great volume of money then maybe they can really manipulate the bitcoin markets and since some of us are low whales then maybe it will be suitable for us to join whenever there are sudden pumping movement happening and let should be more watchful so that we could track the possible ATH movements and gain more money when manipulators move to dump the ecosystem.

yes that is very right that there are a lot of people who have big investment, they can really manipulate the bitcoin as well as other altcoin price, i think that when bitcoin price will increase too much, and when the bitcoin users will increase too much then it will become difficult for them to manipulate the bitcoin price.

This isn't something new. Whales always had the ability to move markets in the crypto world. This will change with increase in liquidity of the markets. Altcoins are less liquid than the Bitcoin market and will always be susceptible to pump and dump schemes.

This isn't something new. Whales always had the ability to move markets in the crypto world. This will change with increase in liquidity of the markets. Altcoins are less liquid than the Bitcoin market and will always be susceptible to pump and dump schemes.

Well that's true but aside from whales we also have speculations to consider. Market moves through how people feel about it. It determines if much money will come in. Like fomo. If people suddenly becomes confident because of rising prices, fomo comes in which could raise the value higher. Same thing though with panic but with opposite effect

And where exactly have you pbserved this trend? The theory is old, it is sound usually, but most people who repeat the theory actually haven't seen evidence themselves.

Whales buying price up, whales selling price down. If this were the straightforward case, wouldn't we just be seeing Mt Gox trustee levels of selling and buying every few months?

Lesson about Bitcoin price: all the theories come after the fact. No one can still pin down the exact reasons driving price movement.

The conspiracy is very true, there are whales that gather and attempt to modify the price with their big order books. Mostly what they do is the classic strategies:

-Fake big order of sells or buys to incentivize noobs into falling for it
-Short squeezing
-Actual pumping/dumping

The ones that are at the top of the chain and control the media, use it to spread news and get the narrative in the direction that better fits their agenda.

The only way to win against them is to buy and hold. No matter what they do:

1) Bitcoin is immutable: total 21 million coin limit remains
2) Bitcoin's desirable qualities therefore not change

They just want your coins, that's all.

Well, we can't say that there isn't the present of whale manipulators in the price of bitcoin and also most cryptocurrency. Sometimes the  item whales do play their little gains to make their profits, but most times, some bitcoin  price fluctuation is as a result of FUDs and panic sell-off by some inpatient investors and over excited traders who wants to make quick gains.

many examples of price manipulation simply because the market is so fragile for a variety of crypto hidden, Manipulation is done in general who usually do trades that really do not have the bitcoin they use.

you are talking about two very different things here.
- one is the altcoin pump and dumps that is done by whales. this is a normal thing and has been going on forever. and will continue to happen since the only usage for altcons is exactly that! this has nothing to do with bitcoin manipulation though!

- the other thing is the manipulation of bitcoin price by the whales. for this you have to know that the trend is not as you think. it is not a pump and dump, not anymore for years now.the market has grown a lot and there are a lot of different whales in bitcoin and they are forming different groups wanting the price to go in a different direction. then there is also the natural market movements. so the total of this is shaping the price. but a whale is still a big player and can affect the price but not as much as a whale can affect an altcoin price because there is nothing going on in the altcoins apart from pumping and everyone is waiting for that pump to come nothing else.!

It's not just whales there are the P&D groups which can manipulate the price but for bitcoin to its capitalization and daily volume? from small-time groups and whales, we can easily recover if the whale is like the Mt.gox dumper then we can speak about this manipulation and price crashes that's why people monitor their own wallets for the bitcoin's movement and trading.

Again we are getting through another correction so don't expect that the price will just increase in an unstoppable manner.

But this makes sense that there is something behind these price ups and downs. They don't want to let it land at $10k so that they can buy more bitcoin. We don't have to worry about as these whales also wanted to see bitcoin stays at high prices soon. Holding makes sense during these times.
