FFS it takes like 3 days to transfer from bank acct to Dwolla. Then another 3 or so days from Dwolla to MtGox. So nearly a week before the funds actually show up a MtGox account. Is there a quicker way?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Wiring money would probably be faster, but a lot more expensive.

Buying a redeemable Mt. Gox code, by far. Only the sky is the limit on what sort of payments people take and offer for those. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1561.0After you pay (local wire, moneybookers, LR, Paysafe card, prepaid visas or whatever people want in return) they send you the code immediately.

Yep, international wire transfer is the fastest. (ok, I'm not sure about the redeemable mtgox code) I think it took me 2 days. But then MtGox was hacked, and then, well, let's just say it took a bit of straightening out. But 2 days I'd say from my account/Citibank to their bank in Japan, fees were $30 I think.

Looks like I missed the dip to $8 while waiting for account verification. I snooze, I lose.

Yes. I have done this (selling the code) and can do it in the Baltimore MD area. I can also sell bitcoins directly.
