Go for both, Btc & Ltc will continue to grow as well some other alt-coins. Diversify,Diversify,Diversify.

I don't think those are best to "invest" in because they cost so much you should mine those and buy cheaper coins

I'd say both.  As long as you aren't spending money you can't afford to lose.

I guess things like this can make ltc interesting :  http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/525867/20131128/litcoin-value-leaps-100-percent-market-cap.htm , but I have no investments in ltc myself.
Also mining ltc would make less hassle as the gpu is still usable (I think), you might even have a computer gaming rig to dedicate a couple of days, just to see if you can stand the noise  Wink
I got a bflminer next to me and it is not quiet, love bitfury for their ssssilent machines.
For buying coins... I would follow some advices above and decide for myself. And also it seems to be a bit more trolls around the ltc  Smiley
Don't ask for too much and you won't lose all in one go, as I did trading for the first times, slowly but surely is the way to go.

Happy coinage!!!

I'd honestly invest in LTC.. I wish I had done months ago when I mined some. At the time of mining they were worth about 10 bucks a pop, right now they're ~30.
I have to agree with the fact that LTC and other altcoins are related to the rise and fall of BTC, but I think LTC can become a very strong altcoin, and take a course of it's own, if I had to choose I'd invest in LTC.

I like the concept of LTC and I believe there's a lot of room to grow.

Ltc actually has huge potential and it might become even popular than btc some day, because of the transaction speed. I traded all my bitcoins to ltc a while ago at price of ~5$/ltc

You mean confirmation speed and there are alt coins with faster confirmation speed already. That's not a good argument for a currency to overtake another.

I invest in many of the different cryptos out there.  Even though it's a bit of a risk for sacrificing the mining time - it's nice to mine many more coins of new currency vs. fractions of the larger ones.  Though the chance of failure may be high - only one needs to really go through the roof to make it worth it.
