Hi,

I've been looking around for some mining hardware but they are all so over priced, It's frustrating. I started mining a few weeks ago with 1 ASIC Miner (I know) and have just reached 0.004BTC. My plan was to buy a 5GH/s Jalapeno from butterfly labs since they where only ~ £188 including delivery, however they went out of stock a few days after looking and I'm unsure if they're ever going to be back in stock. £188 seems perfect for my budget since I'm not a rich guy. I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas of what I can buy with some hashing power of over 3Gh/s and >10GH/s. I'd greatly appreciate your help.

Cheers,

Owen.

About a month ago I bought 3 nanofuries from technobit, they are stable, 2.5 GH/s each, 52 euros each, it's a good place to start.

2.3 GH/s Full set Technobit NanoFury USB bitcoin miner

Fuck technobit. The worst in the world to do business with. I hear he delivers, but really late and NEVER responds to emails. I have a borked order tied up with that idiot now. No, I am not happy with technobit.
I have 2 * 5 gh/s miner from Butterfly labs and they do deliver, but they took 6 months to arrive.
Untill you scrounge a little bit of hashing power, your purchases are so small, nobody gives a shit.

I am slowly buying hosted hashing from Butterfly labs now, knowing it won't turn on for another 2 to 3 months but by then, the 10gh/s I have now will have purchased enough gigs in contract to now start moving some real gear.

Good luck dude!

Obviously you bought a usb miner and you want to do the same mistake again.
Just go and buy bitcoins with your 188 pounds.

I too have been wanting to purchase a few GH to do some mining as a hobby personally. I originally wanted to to get a Neptune with a group of friends but they all bailed on me. Anyone on bitcointalk have some hardware they want to sell at a cheap rate to a newbie? Or can anyone here point me in the direction of a user who is selling used hardware for a cheap price. Looking for something that will ROI in 6 months but I am probably reaching due to all the inflated prices of hardware.

I dont even pay for electric at my house, so I dont care how power hungry it is.

For starters the (bitcoin price/difficulty ratio) sucks right now...terrible time to buy hardware.

Fuck the pre-orders...if its not in hand tell them to go pound sand.

If its a group buy, make damn sure they have a good line on the hardware.

And yes as one of the other posters mentioned....if Bitcoin gets into the double digits go buy a bunch but until then just sit tight until hardware price gets better.

Don't go throwing good money after bad.

Fact - Fuck preorders, means you wont be getting one until after difficulty is too high - you see how people charge for in hand hardware right?

So is it possible that the difficulty is always going to suck considering these big mining companies are going to be raping the network with their hashing power?

£12 + 20% of the value of the product.

Unless you have a load of money to start mining probably won't be profitable for you, or just get a 5 series card off ebay, my 5830 using middlecoin makes more BTC than a jalla would!

The fastest mining equipment is in the cloud at CEX.io. I know it's pricey; but you have no hardware to find, no extra electricity to consume, and don't have to worry about reselling the unit as a paperweight later. I've been mining there since early October, and have kept reinvesting my mined BTC to GH since its easy and has a nice orderbook. PM me if you want some more details.

Worry about selling the unit? That's at least half of the ROI gone there if you use cex. Many ASICs can be resold for more than the cost after mining for a couple of weeks or months!

Really only two options for budget miner that u can have shipped right away. AsicMiner Cube or the 1-2.7 ghs USB miners ...  Also expensive cloud mining, or better yet buy in on a group share buy in. Just make sure its a trusted member Smiley I've noticed some pretty good deals on 100ghs group share buys on this fourm.....

It is very hard to make money out of Bitcoin mining on a budget these days. If its an interesting hobby you want that might just make a little profit then consider building a GPU mining rig and mining scrypt coins. Industry has not taken over that field (yet).
