I'm thinking of doing a Million Grain Giveaway.

Any Idea of the best most effective way to bring more people to grain through this giveaway.

Little bit risky, if they dump the easy gains, it will mess up again.
Actually, more pro-active working and discussion in this forum, is better.

don't think so cause with grain they get interest on the coins they hold, so why instantly dump? I think giveaways and contests would benefit grain . how much premine still left? anybody know.

You ain't gonna get pro-aktive discussion in here out of thin air, you have to bring people in first.

if grain is the only coin with truly random superblocks now shouldn't that attract new miners. i'm no mining expert so can someone tell me how attractive that is. why not open a new thread with the news in the alt forum for starters.

I think, 5% yearly interest ?
it can be an advantage but it is not a big attractive stuff,
just interesting things.
some coin has 50% or 100% or more interest, it is not a success point,

I am asking "HOW we(all) can ?"

Surely, TRUE RANDOM reward is an advantage of this coin,
But, RANDOM means the random reward for a single block,
when mining long term or when mining in the pool, RAMDOM become meanless.
There is no difference between the fixed reward coins,

Even it is very small, just say hello everyday,
it can be one of way to make this coin be awaken.

^^

Have a nice day

I wasn't interested in this coin because of the random superblocks.
I originally liked the name of this coin.
As a small to midrange miner I look for these things first.
I made an exception to this coin.

1)  Mining Profitability
2)  Market cap If no one is buying then why bother
3)  Name ( No silly, Ignorant, Unreadable, or Profane names )
4)  Pools
5)  Marketing
6)  Community
7)  Developers

thanks for clearing that up with the superblocks. i never mined a coin just bought them. while 50% is more attractive short term i think 5% is better  to be also taken seriously as a real world currency long term. i think thats grains main advantage. the coin supply the, pos interest, the name. it just feels right and i can see people making groceryshopping with grain in the future. even with the big flud of alts right now i can only say that about a few of them.

You are right if we want grain to succed we should be all around more often in the coming weeks, same goes for the devs by the way.
i still think some giveaways or contest could bring people in to fuel this conversation. i think once they see the potential of grain they don't want to instantly dump anymore.

have some faith in our little star brother Smiley

ps: if anyone hasn't posted in the cryptsy request yet or long time ago do it now!!! its unbelievable this isn't on there.

My wallet runs really slow and I think it's because I have 2400+ transactions.

Do you guys think I should make a new wallet and send my GRA to it? Think that might speed it up?

Yes I'd do that. My experiences with all the pos coins are that once the number of transaction > 1000, then the wallet can run very slow. I usually transfer the amount to new wallet, and then there will be no problem.

Since many coins are generated by pos blocks, and these are small amount coins each time, you may need to transfer a few times to the new wallet. I think when generating tx out there's a limitation (again in all coins) that max 1024 tx input can be combined into a tx output. So that's why sometimes you see "transaction failed" message. If you see it, just try to transfer a smaller amount.

Something is wrong with the network.
My local Grain blockchain is always out of sync.

Edit:
This coin is just broken as shit.
Pow + Pos + very low block time = too unstable
Forks of 20-50 blocks are just too much.

I'm holding my 1.3M grain, because its pointless to sell it for almost nothing.

Actually, when Diff of PoS has increased,
the diff of PoW is going down abnormally,
And, PoW fall in to the annoy situation,
And, you can be in the deep local fork (sometime higher than 10 block height)
Im this case, you have close QT
And wait for 5-10 minutes,
And start again, and sync again ~

Just simply, PoW/PoS diff adjusting should be  separated at least as an operand.
Anyway, there is no answer, longer block time is better than shorter
But, it makes an delay of transaction.
Anyway, the block time of this coin is not a big problem when check over the time.
The most problem is interference of diff between PoS and PoW.
Anyway, if the network hash rate is bigger than 200M, this coin will be stable.
But, just 50-100Mh now,

It's probably because the one exchange it's on won't let people withdraw.

and because people are more interested in pump and dumps.

Grain been here 4 months, people dump all their money into coins that die less than a week after launch.

Coinedup, the gra daemon has down over two days,
And, they do not fix it now,
Some people dump their coin, and withdraw by LTC or BTC
It makes an worst situation now

Need an activity ~

Well, we need to cut the bullshit here! Bosian never cared about this coin in particular but to make some profit and probably he has other projects in the cryptocurrency!
If you have the patience to read the entire thread. Bosian was never truly an active DEV. Some guys even steped in to help and almost takeover the thread because they believed in this project and they have been ignored after trying to promote GRA in many diferent ways!
This DEV has dumped his premined coins along time ago and does not care about the future of GRA!
The market price is a reflect of the effort that was put in to make this coin alive and kickin!
I suggest you guys don't waste more time with GRA care the DEV team is not wasting theirs!

Hope you find better investments from now on. To many coins out there now but I give you guys an advice, especially to the newbies. Buy them low, sell them at profit. Don't be greedy thinking your coin is going to make you a billionare. Just sell them at profit and don't sell at a loss and for that to happen like I said buy at low prices and sell like when you see that you will get some profit. Like if you buy at 1 satoshi and sell at 2 satoshi you are having a profit of 100% and if you buy at 2 and sel at 4 you will have 100% profit and so on!
Main reason I am posting this here in this thread is because I am not posting anymore on this shitcoin thread and would like to give an advice for the newcomers!
Don't invest in coins where developers don't promote their projects and present you real future development, don't invest when the dev is not active on the thread or media channels.
Look at he volume of the coin and marketcap. If there is no volume of a coin on the market it is because no one is buying or selling = no real market.
Good luck all and fuck you Bosian.

Cheers

Difficulty now only 0.038, fun to mine

I dunno why people crap all over coins when they get to this point, I think it's in a much better position than a new coin (for the exception of having no active dev)

Everything is done now and no pre-mine left to dump, if someone new wants to claim this coin I would be happy to flick some coins over for funding

I do not believe that this coin is dead. I still think this is a very interesting coin and only needs some more PR.
