To be exact, low transaction fees. Another plus point for Dogecoin is its fast transaction speed. Of course, its speed is not fast enough in comparison with Litecoin, which has Lightning network, but it is fast enough to move between exchanges.

But DOGE has lower liquidity than Litecoin and if you take the advantage of speed, why would you use DOGE instead of LTC if you yourself even know that the other one is faster?

Honestly, I don't think Lightning network is essential feature in the crypto ecosystem. Transfering my money at the light speed. Thanks for great technology, but I don't really need it.
Therefore, I would like to choose Dogecoin, which has a little bit slower transaction speeds, but much lower transaction fees, than Litecoin.

Wallet on your computer is the most secure option.

Well if you are really looking the possibility to exchange your doge, an exchange is the only real option I think. Keeping them in your own wallt or even a paper wallet is way more secure.

Lightning network is essential feature in the crypto ecosystem. It gives the real opportunity for BTC(later for others crypto who adopt it) to become currency,not just commodity like today.It expands dramatically number of possible transactions and reduce time and costs,making cryptos interesting for mass adoption by merchants.

Dogecoin despite its faster confirmation time than BTC cant compete with Lightning network full power,because DOGE network has not even close capacity to support worldwide adoption and huge number of transactions which comes with it.Not just Dogecoin,any coin today.

DOGE had its chance to use its advantages to become ideal vehicle for tokens and smart contracts,but due to lack of developpment,ETH(which is real coding mess and living hell) was faster and overtook that role.

Lightning network is important, helpful feature, but it is not essential stuffs.
Falling into LN race is not smart option for altcoins, instead of atomic swap, which can make traders/ investors' movement more comfortable, easier, saving a lot of time.

Of course, Dogecoin network should be adjusted to cope with upcoming massive transactions (might come some day) and avoid network congestions.

LN network is essential for making usable currency from cryptos.Today ,DOGE network is not suitable for such task as worldwide massive adoption.Yes, it can change block size(like Bitcoin Cash) or short mining time between blocks,but problem of bloating blockchain size and network centraliztion as result of it, cant be solved on that manner.

Have example of ETH and it supersized blockchain.That leads in network centralization,specialized node data centres which will put cost of maintaining network on users.

LN network solves few essential problems - network congestion,bloating of blockchain,reduce cost and time for transactions,keeps network decentralized.

What I like most in current situation in Doge is its consistency in volume of at around $30 millions average for every single day for weeks now. If we check the price in parity with Bitcoin that are floating in same range with few percent up or down. Real change in its value has yet to occur once markets will be stable for few days again. For the moment it looks fine to me.
