Hello,

I'm new to Bitcoin stuff and I've been trying to solve this problem whole day long by searching these forums and google.

When I try to connect to any pool, I find that I'm having "connection problems" and when I check the console in Guiminer
it gives me this error message:

2011-08-08 03:13:57: Running command: poclbm.exe --user=MYUSER_MYWORKER --pass=MYPASSWORD" -o THE.POOL.IUSE -p PORT --device=0 --platform=0 --verbose -v -w128
2011-08-08 03:13:57: Listener for "Default" started
2011-08-08 03:13:58: Listener for "Default": No device specified or device not found, use -d to specify one of the following
2011-08-08 03:13:58: Listener for "Default":
  • Cypress2011-08-08 03:13:58: Listener for "Default": [1]   AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with ATI 5870 as my graphics card.
The drivers that I currently have installed are Catalyst 11.6, I did have 11.7 earlier but since I had the same error message then I tried downgrading and as you can
see, had no success. Also tried installing ATI Stream 2.1, 2.3, AMD APP SDK 2.5, Older version of Guiminer, but still I get the same error message.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?  Undecided

Remove everything, reboot, load the stuff back one at a time doing reboots in between if prompted to. It will come back, just roll it back to no catalyst drivers, nothing, let it pickup the card as a generic vga adapter. Load ATI catalyst reboot. Load SDK.

Re-test and you should be good.

Cheers,
Wes.

I'll try this and see if stuff will work. Thanks.

I did everything like you said, but seems like it's still giving me the same error.

Anything else I could try to do? Are there any alternatives to Guiminer?
