I am sure that there are many people working around the clock trying to fix the problems regarding the mtgox issue as well as the ddos attacks.  Hopefully, there is a solution to the mtgox issue which doesn't result in a massive chilling effect for bitcoin. 

For what it's worth from one bitcoin holder and enthusiast, thanks!  Really appreciate all of your hard work!

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.
