Here's The Thing We need a logo for or group The Wasp Project Collective. But not just any logo a really good one! So as a group decided to ask you talented people to help.
Wait I'm not done. I know all of you are thinking well whats in it for me.
Good Question.
How about this the winner of the contest will receive a free membership for the winning design.
Oh but that's not enough is it we will also give the winner a 1 free share This is something we don't give away lightly. A $350 Value

So come up with your on Idea or you can start off with my idea

Here's My idea it is: A Wasp coming in for the sting and stings a Block (cube) and cracks it open and the block starts oozing 1's and 0's. You get where I going right

Winner will be decided by collective vote and I will put other members ideas up here soon  Good Luck! Grin

Voting is now open instead of listing every logo sense most people did multiple logo's we will vote for the best designer pick the designer of your favorite logo.

Note to WPC Members: Wait Tell after the 31st to vote for your favorite

Here is my ugly attempt of what not to do.

THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY.

My design thoughts as member of the collective.

1. Big or small you get the logo.
2. It speaks to socialist nature of a collective but screams capitalist pig dog!
3. A wasp.
4. Black and Gold. Big Bruins fan.

A few questions:
-Should the logo include the text 'Wasp Project Collective' or 'The Wasp'? Which one?
-Is there a specified deadline?

What do you think would be best? The whole name? The Wasp Project Collective? WPC? Wasp? Possibly nothing just a sharp logo.

Deadline? Not sure. End of December or until we get a minimum of 9 entries from the community.

Here is a first entry by me. I got a little carried away; the wasp might be a little too detailed for use on a logo.

Options 1 and 2. Hexagonal (hive shaped) coin with "W" or a wasp on it.

Hmmm nice.

Some good effort there.

Notes:

Careful not to go too bee... has to be more wasp.

More inspiration if you want to go aggressive with the logo.
Just a personal preference not what everyone in the collective might want though.

A paper wasp eats a Monarch Danaus plexippus butterfly chrysalis. Before it even emerges... all it needed was two more weeks.

More inspiration if you want to go aggressive with the logo.

Option 4-2. It's not a problem to make more agressive icon. I'm just not sure it'll work. Lots of people hate wasps, or afraid of them, or both. Like me Smiley After all it's logo for tech company, not for archers club or biker gang.

Love me a wasp that is aggressive just one vote though. Are we about the tech? Or are we of the mindset "biker" gang? Maybe we are a very strong organization that will projects into being with our sheer strength of the collective and we are all nonplussed by the weak autocratic competition that currently exists in the community perhaps?

A little philosophy on how we want to work together:

Work in the Wasp Project Collective

Code:
In the WPC, work life is very different. Instead of throwing away democratic rights,
every member votes on workplace decisions in proportion to how much they are affected by the
decision. Not only do we vote in workplace affairs, but all members try and have a balanced job
complex.

A balanced job complex means that everyone would share empowering enjoyable tasks, as well
as rote tasks that are not as empowering or enjoyable. For instance, an EE might spend part of
their month doing accounting, documentation or support of newly paid lifetime members, or on
some other rote task. What this does is creates a single 'class' of members. In addition, when hierarchy
is needed, the task of being in charge is rotated. This ensures that a permanent hierarchy will
be unable to take over the WPC.

The fact that every member is able to review and understand WPC issues means that every
member can contribute ideas on how to organize and proceed, helping to maintain the equality
of power in the collective. One is always paid in shares according to the effort and sacrifice
expended. Since everyone hopefully works in a balanced job complex, the intrinsic effort and
sacrifice in each job would be comparable. If a member wanted more shares, she or he would
work more hours.

Gamersglory's idea. More like a sketch by now, not sure I can make it looks like logo.
