hi guys
i have a small question
i m trying to mine litecoins atm, i have a sapphire 6950.
if i say but another gpu , like 7950, i can put it in crossfire with my existing card to get some more hashing power?
I read somehwere that gpus must be same for crossfire.  can i just plug in other gpu and use them both for mining without bridging 'em together?

thanks.
(also, do threads just gets deleted here?  no lock/why its not there anymore etc.  i think one of mine in off topic section got deleted.  idk how Sad)

Crossfire can only be used with the same GPU.

If your other thread was about contraband in Mumbai, I was the one who deleted it.

Please use other forums that focus on things like that.

CrossFire X/ SLI is required for gaming, not mining. In gaming all GPU's work on calculating and outputting to a device (monitor). For example a game to utilize maximum computing available all the work done by concerted. If one of the two GPU is significantly slower (different models) they can't perform as equivalents, hence the requisite of same model for cross fire. In case of mining however each card is working separately, calculating hashes. They don't need to talk to each other or collaborate. They also don't need to exchange a lot of data at high speed, that's why risers on an 1x PCIe port work fine for mining.

TLDR: no need of cross fire, you can use different GPU for mining. People have actually made rigs with 7950s and 7970s mixed together.
