I don't think merit is really important. For example fresh accounts don't have any merit, which don't mean that the account is posting bad content.
Maybe an ICO account should have one or two merit, but I don't think people care much about it.

I just want to be part of the community. And for me to be part of the community, people need to see me. For people to recognise me, an avatar would really help. If I could have an avatar, I would have no need for more merit.

I want to motivate the community. My motivational threads got many many replys. I am proud of that, I want to keep the spirits up so that we can all grow in this experience.
