I have been mulling around here for a few weeks and have seen a lot of posts about people being scammed out of their bitcoins.
I don't understand this. How do you fall for a scam, involving money that is hard to trace and is anonymous?
I mean it's like the people who fall for the "I have 2 Billion Euros in a seized bank account and need your help to get it out. In return I will give you half"
Simple rule to follow in the internet world, and has been for years. Trust no one.
Let's amend that with Trust no one, even with your bitcoins.
Am I wrong to think like this?
It's quite simple, really. People get so blinded by the prospect of making money that rationality jumps right out of the window. Along with their wallet.
Use your common sense. If it seems too good to be true, then it quite possibly is. The less well known the website, or individual, then the higher probability there is that you'll be scammed. Before doing anything. Ask questions. Lots and lots of questions. Or better yet, just ask yourself; would you be doing this with
money?
