Here's my working config, its connecting quite easily and updating etc.

Hmm weird, even that is not working for me. Still "No block source available..." after 15mins.

Well I leave it open and hope it connects sometime soon :/

EDIT: now it connected and got the blocks.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Since we have a quark-clone here, the block reward will half at the same number of blocks as quark, i.e. at ~3kk coins.

Edit: @60480 blocks = 3,024,000 coins.

The difficulty has reached really high. Coin might be added soon to a exchange site.

Showing about 1600... Not too bad for being mined for 8 days.

Why would the difficulty dictate making it to an exchange?

We might meet kind of a "flawed" logic here that a high difficulty ^= scarcity. A coin that is hard to produce and has limited supply reaches a higher price than one that doesn't. If your coin isn't made popular by a group of 14-year-old teenage kids (not looking at any coin specifically, of course), then you should at least have the point in theoretical value implied by scarcity, which means that your coin has a potential value and should thus be traded. This isn't necessary for jumping onto an exchange but might turn out as an important factor.

Currently have 5K FZ for sale, asking 25 LTC or BTC equivalent.

Why so much? Several reasons.

1) Difficulty is now high enough that my mining rates are plummeting. In another week I will probably be putting all of my machines back to directly mining LTC.
2) Potential to be listed on an exchange soon means price may suddenly jump 5X or more.
3) Drop in value of LTC/BTC.
4) About 1/3 as many FZ ever as there are current QRK, and QRK is valued at $0.12; I expect FZ to hit $0.50 before the end of 2014.
5) Desire to keep mined FZ vs. sell for current profits.

So, if you're interested, PM me. I will transfer 1/2 of coins first, receive LTC/BTC for that half, then transfer second half.

There are 247Million QRK. There will be 7M Fz. Thats 1/32 as many, not 1/3, making it much more rare. Also QRK will continue to generate every year and Fz will be done after the last block is mined.

Oh, in that case, yeah -- much higher prices. I had 77 million in my head. :-)

FTFY. Seriously, it's killing the value of FZ, especially in light of the general market downturn of the day.

Just a general comment/question since the Frozencoin.org site remains down:

Is anyone else having issues with GPU mining of FZ at the increased difficulty level? I had a system doing 5MHash/sec that at difficulty 500 seemed to be getting around 15 blocks per day. Today, I think it has found two. Best guess is that somehow smelter.exe is not working well at higher difficulty, and is somehow wasting effort. A tripling of difficulty should have resulted in 1/3 the block rate, but I'm more like 1/10 (or less on other systems). CPU mining on the other hand continues to go okay -- my systems (about 20 of them) are still generating close to 1.5K FZ per day, which is scaling pretty well with difficulty.

So basically, what I'm saying is that smelter and FZ don't look to be working properly now that we're at 1500+ difficulty. Also, AFAICT smelter doesn't work with stratum mining pools? So it's doubly useless. I think the smelter version that's being used for Frozen is different from the Quark version, which might explain the problem. And finally, despite claims to the contrary, I'm pretty sure smelter is using a fair amount of GPL licensed code. Maybe I missed something, but is it okay to have a program that has half of it's libraries GPL and then charge 10% of all mined FZ (or QRK) for it? It really needs to go open source, and more importantly it needs some better devs to handle things because right now it's very flaky.
