There is a lot of referral spam on this site. I think it would be great if bitcointalk.org automatically filtered out URLs with "cex.io/r".

And "pyramining.com/referral", too.

Yeah I'm getting sick of the amazon affiliate spam too.
For now just hit the report to moderator button so we can deal with them.

How easy would it be for the site to do that?  I'm guessing anything that has the word referrer would be quite easy.

It would have to be done per site, some use /r=xxx, some use stuff like aid=xxx, aff=xxx.

Are referral links still allowed in signatures?

Exactly, not to forget the smartasses that use bit.ly to compress their referral links, or those who hyper link their referral link that appears like a normal website link.

What's the issue with them? Spam encouragement?

People create accounts just for the purpose of reply to every mining-related thread with their referral link.

People that want to use referrals will find other ways like url shorteners to bypass a filter like this.

Referal links are generally acceptable if they are solicited. For example, if I was asking someone for information on Cryptsy, someone is welcome to give me information + their referal link. People just posting their referal links and nothing else, or no helpful information is quite annoying.
