Freetrade,

Can you please do some light versioning whenever you release an update to the software?  The only way to figure out if a new version has been released is to look through the thread and find a post of yours saying you've updated files.  Even then, the only way to tell when I download memorycoin.zip is to check file dates and compare them to what I have.  If you could change memorycoin.zip to something like memorycoin12-20.zip or a version number that would help.  Then on the main page, if you could put some text as to what was changed in the latest update that would also help quite a bit.  Just some suggestions, thanks.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Yes. Things have been pretty hectic over the past few days and I've been lax about this. I'll be more diligent with version numbers in the future.

memorycoin.zip will always point to the latest version of the release. This is because the link gets copied around a lot and I don't want people downloading old versions. But on the main thread I'll note what the version is, starting with the next release.

Thanks!  I think it will help prevent the same questions coming again and again.  I've had the application stop mining on multiple machines overnight, so I'm hoping with the new version it will stay running.

"607 from 1217 blocks are synchronized". And for 2 hours no more blocks were added. Don't you know why?
There are 8 active connections. I've already rebooted wallet.

Something went wrong Sad

After a windows update restart, my desktop pc started mining and founded 3 blocks. I couldn't believe when I saw it. But i also founded that they were unconfirmed and the block count stuck at 811. So I went to %appdata%/memorytcoin and deleted everything except wallet.dat , downloaded again the binaries and started them. The same process I made a few times to get everything in order. I left the PC reloading the blockchain and now its done, but my wallet is empty.

Did I made it wrong? Has my wallet.dat been overwritten by not moving to another folder? I thought that its not necessary Sad
Maybe it's not overwritten, it's still blocked as it was yesterday with a password and so on, but then, where are the 3 blocks I've seen this morning?

You can't overwrite the wallet that way.
You where mining these block on a wrong fork, that's why you had 3 blocks just by yourself. They are not valid, that's why it doesn't appear any more.

I'm setting up my VPS to mine but it's very unstable, could someone help me?

In one of my VMs I get this information:

Code:
{
    "version" : 85400,
    "protocolversion" : 70001,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 1229,
    "timeoffset" : -7,
    "connections" : 8,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 0.00000553,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1387549268,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "errors" : ""
}
{
    "blocks" : 1229,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 0.00000553,
    "errors" : "",
    "genproclimit" : -1,
    "hashespermin" : 0.47766898,
    "pooledtx" : 1,
    "testnet" : false
}

Is that hashespermin good or it's not working propperly?

Also the other VMs vary between "hashespermin" : 0.60541646 "hashespermin" : 0.00000000 and error: couldn't connect to server.

Why is this happening?

Also I tried to open port 1968 with:

Code:
iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 1968 --syn -j ACCEPT

Could someone point me in the good path?

Regards.

It's from an Azure 4core VM, in the 8core vm I'm getting 0.91198231.

Also How could I get more connections, currently I'm with 8 in all my machines but I read above that people had 40.

I've had a couple of nodes up for about ... 5 days now?  the highest I've seen is one at ~110.  right now the one I'm looking at is at 86

re: Azure 4 core, no clue then.  cat /proc/cpuinfo?   something like a xeon l5420 will only get about 0.6 or so, 1.2 in multi cpu setup

It'd probably help if you did it enough times

the timeout is too long when it asks a junk peer for blocks

just set maxconnection=1

connect=68.232.188.226
connect=198.12.127.2

then it'll connect to one of my machines (ed: it'll request blocks immediately from whoever you connect to first, if you use addnode or something then it could still take forever to randomly pick)

oh, the second one is at 106 ppl

that hashes value looks about right for some $10-$15 VPS

It's from an Azure 4core VM, in the 8core vm I'm getting 0.91198231.

Also How could I get more connections, currently I'm with 8 in all my machines but I read above that people had 40.

I've had a couple of nodes up for about ... 5 days now?  the highest I've seen is one at ~110.  right now the one I'm looking at is at 86

re: Azure 4 core, no clue then.  cat /proc/cpuinfo?   something like a xeon l5420 will only get about 0.6 or so, 1.2 in multi cpu setup

This is the processor:
AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 4171 HE
