This section of the forum is filled with low-life scumbag scammers.  Probably 90% of the sellers here are scammers.  Had you looked at his "trust" + self-moderated &  usually locked threads before buying you wouldn't have been scammed. Sorry you lost money but if it makes you feel better you aren't the first and won't be the last.  Unfortunately the mods will move your post to another part of this forum when they see it.

Just because you've been scammed that doesn't mean the forum is garbage. There are far more ways in scamming and you've fell on one of the simplest methods.
Also, there are numerous -ve feedback on that account, you should check things like that first and have to think twice because it's your own money.

Forum sites can't put a pop up that would tell you that it is a scam  Undecided.

This is very true and buyers need to take responsibility for their own actions but a forum can delete those OBVIOUS scammer threads rather than let them continue for 1-2 years and many do that.

This guy has been accused of multiple scams in the past, you should have checked his trust ratings before you dealt with him at all. If you actually did some research, you would have realized that everyone who dealt with him essentially got scammed.

All of his threads are either self moderated, or locked, or perhaps both. But all of them also offer too good to be true rates on gift cards, even if he delivers them to you they were never going to be legitimately obtained.

Avoid sending first to anyone on this forum, always use escrow unless someone has a good amount of reputation. You can't say that the forum is bad just because you were not careful.

Given that you've deleted the thread, the scammer can easily create another one or lets say you ban them, they will return no matter what.
IMO the dedication of these money-grabbers are the very reason why Bitcointalk decided to not moderate scams.

It might also be the reason why they came up with a trust system.

There is another solution to stop scammers or at least slow them down, better than the trust system, but the staff refuse to implement it. very sketchy imo.

People will continue to be scammed whilst the site provides scammers with scamming tools.
