Apparently there's been a fork in the blockchain.. Are we on the correct chain? Our net hashrate, difficulty and current block number differ from other pools, namely SuchCoins and Dogehouse.

http://www.reddit.com/r/dogemining/comments/1y5kou/attention_hard_fork_detected_on_the_network/

Again ?!??!

Checking now..

I've got several back-up wallets running, will switch if as soon as possible if we are really forked

What is the main reason for the fork??
I don't see much information on it.

Something to do with version 1.4 not being able to handle transactions over a certain size.  Someone explained it in the body of this post.

Good to know.
I just wish the dashboard would better display my mining rate.  It usually shows nothing at all or half of what is actually being done.

Does this mean we have to update our wallets to a new version as well??

Hi OCMiner, hello to fellow DogePool users.

I'm new to DogeCoin, in my first 24 hours of mining. From around 16 hours of mining in another pool I picked up 56 Doge.

So far from a couple of hours mining in DogePool, nothing confirmed or unconfirmed.

I don't really understand the mathematics behind all this, but the other pool is doing around 1.4GH/s compared to DogePool's 262MH/s.

Does that mean it takes approximately six times longer to see any results?

But as I'm contributing at same rate as I was to the other pool, I should see about six times more Doge after waiting six times longer?

Is that roughly how it should work out?

Or is the randomness factor of when blocks drop such that it can be really all over the map, from much lower to somewhat higher?

Thank you in advance for helping explain things to this ShibeNewbe.

Thats correct.. But it depends on luck Smiley

But as I'm contributing at same rate as I was to the other pool, I should see about six times more Doge after waiting six times longer?

Thats also correct, you'll get a bigger portion of the block, lets hope we find a big one Smiley

Or is the randomness factor of when blocks drop such that it can be really all over the map, from much lower to somewhat higher?

SpiritSyndic

Randomness is the biggest factor with doge.. Blocks can be as any size of 1 DOGE to 500.000 DOGE and that is what is shared proportionally between the miners.

Next block should be found very soon. make sure you are on wallet 1.5.2 to be on the right chain !

I joined initially when I you were offering this and stayed because it's been a great pool but I have not gotten a bonus.

We had a DNS problem earlier, everything seems normal now, if you cannot connect your stratums, use

stratum+tcp://37.187.27.4:4444 instead of "pool.dogepool.net"

It seems like there is still a DNS problem somewhere around .. if you use Google's DNS everything is fine.

Use stratum+tcp://37.187.27.4:4444 to connect your miners, I'll try to get a backup dns running so www.dogepool.net is available shortly, in the meanwhile https://37.187.27.4/ should also do the trick.
