Here is my 2 cents.  Roll Eyes

I do not believe Satoshi ever conceived that this experiment would become this successful and that bitcoins would become this valuable. I think he only mined coins in the beginning to get things going and he most probably lost most of the private keys for those mined coins. <This was just a testing exercise>

Remember, back then most of these coins was virtually worthless, so throwing them around and playing with them was not a big deal. Just imagine if Satoshi has to emerge now and admit that he lost all of the private keys for those coins that was mined in the early days.  Grin

this theory has been posted by others too all these years that people keep bringing up the subject. and I still can not accept this as a valid one because it is hard to accept that a developer who created a system doesn't keep a proper backup of his keys!
it is not about the value of those coins though. it is about doing the basics of storing your wallet file.

Its kinda weird question but interesting to me if Satoshi Nakamoto is still "alive" and watching.

. I guess, it would be best for bitcoin if its proponent/s would be revealed, just like with ethereum. This would gain more confidence for the coin.

i don't think it would make any difference with the confidence in bitcoin. people always loved mysteries after all and bitcoin is working really well without us knowing who he is- of course i'm curious to know who Satoshi is...

looking at all his posts he is\was a normal person very good with coding and very very skilled in his major field (cryptography?) and he was always answering all people's questions at the start- then after wikileaks and the CIA and the intrusive and aggressive US government he got scared, annoyed, overwhelmed by his own creation. did he save his own 20000(?) addresses private keys? we don't know. did he lose them? did he die? did he pass his legacy to someone? is he hiding?

i think satoshi was at least living in Britain at the moment of bitcoin creation when he used "The Times" jan 3 2009 title to be recorded in the blockchain. the times is a newspaper not readily available in other countries. of course he might have looked at it online but why? back then nobody knew about bitcoin yet. Also, his english sounded a "bit" british to many. is he of japanese origins? did he work for the NSA or the British secret service, maybe yes, maybe no

the mistery goes on and i would love to solve it

Satoshi Nakamoto is still alive, even though Satoshi Nakamoto may be in possession of that quantity of bitcoin, I think Satoshi may be holding it for The well being of the cryptocurrency community. Satoshi is not a greedy person.

He may not be able to touch it.

Ross Ulbricht went to prison for life because of operating Silk Road Dark Net market. Imagine how much prison time the guy that programmed the accounting system that Ross Ulbricht used on his site could be facing. Satoshi disappeared in mid-2011. This was around the time Ross Ulbricht opened up Silk Road and began selling illegal drugs using Bitcoin on the Deep Web. So, maybe Satoshi got spooked and decided to go underground because that's when people started using Bitcoin to do illegal things on the Deep Web. Mid-2011 is also the time when my Weed bust was being illegally thrown in court by the judge, the District Attorney, and my Attorney. As my apartment was searched illegally without a warrant and a fake warrant was presented in court.

The price of Bitcoin spiked on June 8th, 2011 and hit the all time high for that year of $31.50. That same day an Anonymous hacker by the name of Hector Monsegur was turned into an FBI informant following his arrest the previous day. June 8th is my BIRTHDAY...So, the price of Bitcoin skyrocketed and hit all the time high for the year of $31.50 on my BIRTHDAY. That's not a coincidence. It's also not a coincidence that Hector was turned into an FBI Informant on that same day. Satoshi disappeared off the face of the Earth around this time. So, maybe he got scared after all this happened and decided to go underground.

For all I know, there could be people that want to arrest me for creating the Bitcoin idea. Given the fact that I'm openly admitting to being the guy that invented the Bitcoin idea I would say Satoshi is safe, though. As nobody is kicking in my door. The only Satoshi has to worry about at this point is getting sued by me.

One word: megalomania

Trump is peanuts compared to you

price hit 31$ Because it was tour birthday? Lol

I'm the guy who came up with the idea for Bitcoin. So, yes it is very significant that the price hit the high point for the year on my birthday in 2011.

Without me, Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general wouldn't exist.  Satoshi is more than welcome to come out of hiding and challenge me on that whenever he feels like it. I'll be here waiting on his site. If someone like me showed up and started making the claims I'm making I'd be here in a minute to defend myself. As you can see, Satoshi is a fraud and refuses to show himself, as a result.

I am really curious about habeb's post if that is really the address of satoshi. Upon checking then it has only 66btc in its wallet as i final balance therefore what op said is wrong that currenctly satoshi has  more than 900btc in its pocket.

Tho i would love to look the address that was given by habeb further to investigate.

Are your referring to this address? 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa (Genesis Block).
Initially it has 50 BTC. Perhaps you will asked where does the 16 BTC come from? Well, you wouldn't believe but people are sending donations to that address, maybe to show their respect to the Satoshi. Those 16 BTC is spendable, assuming that Satoshi still have the private key.  Smiley

Is this satoshi's official bitcoin wallet? As of now, I visited the wallet address and saw there are still people giving some bitcoins to this address. This is the first time I encounter the bitcoin creators wallet and sadly the owner is dead and gone. Sad

Its kinda weird question but interesting to me if Satoshi Nakamoto is still "alive" and watching.

I am very confident that Satoshi Nakamoto is still alive, he is out there and continues to see the development of bitcoin or even without realizing it, he still contributes to the market to this day. I also read a number of analyzes related to the address wallet affiliated with Satoshi Nakamoto, but I only found out if the amount is 980,000 Bitcoin. but for sure, no matter how many bitcoin assets Satoshi Nakamoto has, wealth is not his main goal, I'm sure the global financial system he dreams of is the main thing.

If what the poster on the first page said was true, then it's likely that Brian Armstrong is Satoshi Nakamoto. As Satoshi's 1 million Bitcoins are stored on Brian's exchange, Coinbase. Why else would Satoshi's coins be stored on his exchange?

Satoshi said he was moving on to "work on other projects" in mid-2011. Brian opened Coinbase in July of 2011. Combine those 2 circumstances together and all the evidence points toward Brian being Satoshi Nakamoto. If Satoshi were a Japanese guy it would make more sense that his coins were stored on an Asian Wallet/Exchange. Not an American Exchange.

I don't buy the "Hal Finney theory." As Hal is already dead and would've had no problem admitting to being Satoshi on his death bed. There's no reason for him to keep quite right before he passed away. He would've openly admitted it to clear things up. It makes much more sense that Brian is Satoshi. He would have no reason to touch the coins when he owns an exchange that has $1 Billion in revenue every year. He makes plenty of money from the Exchange and wouldn't need to touch those 1 million Bitcoins for any reason.

The idea for Bitcoin was presented on Godlike Productions....a conspiracy theory forum. The type of people that log onto those types of forums are typically younger people. Brian was 26 years old and I was 24 years old at the time I presented the idea. Brian is the more likely suspect for being Satoshi Nakamoto. He witnessed me present the idea and then proceeded to steal the idea without telling me. That's what actually took place and that's why he created a fake alias by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto. In order to hide the fact that it was a young American programmer that stole the idea for Bitcoin.

I think you will not see their true address active because they are surely just holding it till the right time came, they are not that idiot to sell it because its their work if the trust dont start from the inventor then there will be no trust will come from others.

What if the said Bitcoins were sold at plus $19k a d then bought back at a price level of $5k or 6k. If it happens like this then we can't say it an idiot approach, in fact it will be a smart approach. For satoshi nakamoto it wouldn't be hard to show a clone address. After all he is the inventor and he would have enjoyed it's benefits more than everyone else.

LOL.

Satoshi is NOT the inventor of Bitcoin. He's the thief who stole the idea and simply programmed Bitcoin. There's a big difference.

Why do you think the guy hasn't done one single interview with the media in 9 years? That should be a pretty good indication that the guy is dishonest. The guy "invents" a multi-Trillion dollar financial market and won't even do one single interview with the media? Clearly, there is something shady going on with this Satoshi Nakamoto guy.

There are many speculations about the Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto turning around. This is one of the biggest question that the people asks; does he really have 1 millions of bitcoin!? Is he still alive? where does he lives? Who can contact with him? If he has bitcoin like millions of them, he should be one of the richest man in the world. That much of bitcoin makes like 7 billions of US Dollars. I believe that would be very hard to live with that kind of money, it is kinda dangerous i guess.. Anyways, i hope one day he comes out and say something to us..

Well that address is associated to the Genesis Block so we can attribute that to Satoshi himself. You're right, people are still sending tips to that address, even the Mt. Gox wallet.  Wink

"Satoshi Nakamoto" is still in pain in this world, and they may be Japanese. They may be traveling somewhere in a great place everyone wants to go. They are enjoying their life, and they never manipulate the price because they know they will kill themselves.

I hope he's/it is not dead. I think these are just the institution accumulating bitcoin bits by bits. Who would send bitcoin from an unknown address just to thank? knowing that these addresses are not even moving anymore?

No one actually knows for sure if who is satoshi or what it is his btc addresses because bitcoin was created to be a digital money that would exceed the old traditional fiat currency and it's features are decentralization and anonymity which is very hard for anyone to trace who belongs to whom. So the answer is indefinite maybe those btc still exist maybe they dont. Who knows.

He, Satoshi Nakamoto is a creator, dealer, as well as a bitcoin agent who works behind the bitcoin stage. Although there's no news which's more specific about him, but I believe 100% that Satoshi Nakamoto certainly has bitcoin with a very large amount even the amount may be more than 980.000 bitcoins.

Satoshi Nakamoto holds 980,000 Bitcoins.. does anyone know their addresses so we know if he/she/they are active in the market? I would guess Bitcoin is their baby and they wouldn't do anything to manipulate the prices and hurt Bitcoin. But would they be taking corrective measures to fight off some of the other whales?

Its kinda weird question but interesting to me if Satoshi Nakamoto is still "alive" and watching.
Bitcoin is considered as the biggest invention of the human kind and SATOSHI NAKAMOTO, is considered behind that invention as he is the owner and the sole inventor of bitcoin and no doubt he would hold most number of bitcoin, most probably he could but still no one knows him personally as no one has saw him yet and met him yet but still he use to talk to its investors through social networking sites and surely once in my life I would like to meet him.

Maybe he is a whale! Or it's a group of whales that manipulate the market. It made for a pump that pumps them money constantly.

For someone who made the invention of the century, I think its bitcoins are well kept warm. All this was well studied and their bitcoin must be in an intracable wallet. But I think that will come a day or they will want to spend a little.
