The Internet was seen as a great liberator when the small guy could compete against the big corporations. But fast forward 20 years have we lost the benefits of the net with the way it is now dominated by a few large companies? From being a liberator it has become controlling. Will we see the same happen for blockchain where initially we can see it as a great disruptor and disinter-mediator only to become something that over time becomes less free and more controlling?

the initial promise definitely woud get modified. in every business world, there would be "a few large companies" controlling majority and others. There's really nothing you can do about it

Bitcoin mining is getting more centralized everyday,  It's actually really scary how much hash power bitmain already controls

What has consumers/buyers to do with blockchain ?? Banks and companies who take payments for bills, online shopping etc.. will implement/add blockchain or not in their business. Consumers must be given safe and secured transactions. That's all.

In business, there will not be any dictionaries known as "promises". You should know that the market is like a battlefield. Only stupid people believe in the promise. Everything needs to change to match the market trend.
It is important to know if you want to become rich.

Every innovative creation is subjected to change irrespective of how furnished it may appear after its creation, additions and deductions will take place in the course of its operation. The Blockchain technology was more liberal during its early times but now facing a lot of governmental impacts here and there. Now, the impact is on KYC and AML. Who knows what may happen next?

I don't see the motive dying out. I think we are now going to experience the greatest impact. At first when it came, we thought something of such sort (blockchain) couldn't exist but now what do we see, even the governments who are against have started integrating it. Some have even invested in the study of blockchain. It is going to become better and more utilised.

Very interesting topic, wondering why people has not got engaged with this one.

This issue is really a major one and just the way Internet was controlled later on gotten its liberty fade away, same thing might will happen / happening with the blockchain. Lets push this through our minds and imagine as to why governments are not tolerating these technologies right now? Because they might be planning on different course of it, to acquire it, to handshake the deals with private giants and learn how blockchain might be controlled.

They will never let this thing be free forever and there will be no public ledger in the next chapter of cryptography.

Innovations and iterations of the initial or intents in a project will surely come whether it is in the blockchain or any other means of making daily life better. If in the future blockchain will sway away to its original purpose we can just hope it is for the better, also the people that use such technology will drive to its changes.

I think that initially blockchain was under the control of some management corporate organizations. I understand that everything that is created by a person under the brand of freedom is being done to restrict freedom and more large-scale control over the population.

I think much like anything new, we will experience changes to adapt and test out the markets. With block chains, given time, it will actually be a more better and fairer distribution and not much favoring neither the big or small investors. Give it time and when the dust settles, we will see block chains as the norm.

I think this is due to your experience in the Blockchain and the history of your currency use.
At present, it is difficult to obtain Bitcoin anonymously, with restrictions and proof of identity before you can buy.
I think these restrictions will get more onerous with days, so you're right Blockchain initial promise fade away.
On the other hand, some solutions are more concerned with privacy, and many currencies give you all the options based on what you want.

Of course, business has to adopt in every possible way that their company and the customers will benefit. Sometimes it will fade away due to some circumstances that their business cannot hold on to.

I think that the crypto currency will not be able to control, as this will completely contradict its original purpose. In the crypto currency, there are only 2 ways: either movement along the conceived path, or death.

I do not think so .. BlockChain will never break with the thing that has been decentralized by his company. I think until now blockchain still runs smoothly without fading ..
Even the various iterations of blockchain are increasingly finding their way into the industry beyond fintech, so bringing change for the people ..
Similarly, if you are a creative or an artist, it may be difficult to license your creative property, which is also often inimitable. The digital revolution has proven a double-edged sword for the artists .. while it's easier than ever to get exposure on various platforms ..
Hmm
unfortunately your post is not a problem guys ..

The initial promise will fade away in the future, but we are not there yet. First the blockchain will apply its initial promise. After that it may get fade away with some new giants that will come to environment.

I think the ultimate goal of creating cryptocurrency is to help create a currency that can be traded extensively around the world so if there is a way to expand it then it is perfectly appropriate. Managed by an organization will help the cryptocurrency market become more secure today.

Technology evolves a lot. Blockchain is currently the new big deal in technology now. Even some governments and top institutions are spending some good money to explore the potentials of this disruptive technology. Going forward, there may be some tweak in blockchain which may lead to the rebirth of this technology or even a more powerful technology.

The Internet is still liberating to many people, they can get info and establish connection that are not possible in real world. The Internet is very far from becoming the Big Brother, except maybe for countries like China. It's true though that because of some big corporations and hugely popular platforms like Facebook and Google the Internet becomes a new danger in our lives and can be used against us.

There are some parallels that can be drawn with blockchain, but also there are differences. Blockchain might be used to tighten the control over population if it will make banking ledgers and other centralized databases somehow more efficient, but blockchain also has way less potential than the Internet to revolutionize anything, so in the end it might be not a big deal at all. And since Bitcoin is already very successful, the benefits of blockchain for freedom will likely be bigger than its harm.

The net was equally divided by all the people around the world and it is being used for good and somehow also been used for evil. That is what will happen also with the Blockchain Technology, it will spread around the world and will be useful with people.
