Bitcoin crashing and 1 billion new DOGE being minted per day.

Despite this DOGE price is holding up! Amazing!

Also 8 threads on the alt-coin front page have DOGE in the title.

Considering this coin doesn't offer anything particularly innovative besides humor, I'm shocked.

The hype around this coin is absurd.  Flipping through the altcoin pages all you see is "DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE DOGE"

What innovations does this coin offer over other coins?  Or is it simply the next Megacoin?  A clonecoin dominating due to a strong community and mad hype.
