Hello,

Just trying to understand how the fees work.

I am trying to buy ~$25 worth of DENT with ETH.  Here's what I'm seeing:
1 DENT is about 1e-6 ETH
I've got 0.076e ETH in the account
This means I can buy about 76,000 DENT

Now, the fee I see is 0.1%, seems reasonable.  This would be reasonable if the 0.1% was of the PURCHASE PRICE, or in other words $25 * 0.1% = 2.5 cents.

Instead what I am seeing is the 0.1% fee is based on the something else...   I am purchasing 76,000 DENT ($25 dollars worth, or 0.076ETH), and the transaction fee is 0.076ETH (25$!)

So what is going on here?  What is the 0.1% applied to?  This is specifically for Limit orders

That fee amount being displayed is a worst case scenario. It's likely that you won't pay amount like this ever.
What exactly is that scenario? This one: your order is being executed by a bunch of tiniest trades possible. It's important to understand that if you're performing a tiny trade with a cheap currency, the fee amount is being rounded, because it couldn't be less than 1 satoshi, for example. So, if you're performing a whole set of these trades, the total fee amount being summarised could reach frightening amount.

In reality orders are barely executed like THIS.
That's why there's no need to worry. It's safe. Thank you for trading with us!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

This is one of the worst exchanges that has ever existed. Their volume is obviously faked, no one in their right mind would trade on this piece of shit more than a day before bailing

- Nearly impossible to find a page showing your open orders. One of the simplest and most obvious pages to have on an exchange, but they make it so you need to run an obscure report just to see your open orders
- you can only buy up to 85% of your total balance at a time. Have 1 BTC and you want to buy 1 BTC worth of XMR? Should be simple right? Not for HitBtc. You can only buy 0.85 BTC worth of XMR. You would then have to place a second order for no more than 85% of the remaining 0.15 BTC, and so on. Ridiculous!
- API is a complete joke. Don't even waste your time unless you love obscure errors and an inability to perform the simplest of transactions

Apparently they don't even check their support system, you need to post on Bitcointalk to hopefully get one of their staff to look at your ticket, as evidenced by the post right above this one.

In conclusion: Run, don't walk, RUN away from HitBtc

The "Reports" section could be found on the main exchange window. There's the "My orders" subsection.

Sorry, we're not exactly sure about what do you mean. It shouldn't be like this. There shouldn't be any trouble selling BTC for XMR. What exactly happens as you're trying to do it?

We do. Every ticket will receive its reply. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you've faced with while trading with us. We're constantly improving our service, and would be extremely glad to prove it to you.

We are extremely sorry that we are leaving such impression. HitBTC is one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges on the market, but it's always at the forefront and keeps moving forward. It wouldn't be possible for us to come such a long way and be the worst at the same time.

Did you even try to reach there report button up? and how long those your problem exist? If this still not credited to your account then its a big trouble since there are so many people encounter that here. And expect that it will take time to resolve that issue since devs team of hitbtc seems slow for taking some action regarding unto that.

Please consider adding Bitcoinplus [XBC] .We are working on getting segregated witness activated.Auto check pointing in place for low confirmation times.Transaction speed/times are faster than both Bitcoin and  Bitcoin cash and still a fraction of the cost.

Dear traders, who are expecting their HVN deposits: they will proceed very soon (if they haven't already)! Technical maintenance has completed successfully, and our wallet is being synchronised with the blockchain, it takes some time. Please forgive us for any inconvenience caused.

29 days ago I opened a ticket on HitBTC support (Ticket ID: 21012), after about 7 days an automated message appeared on the ticket and closed it soon after (presumably also automatically).

I posted another ticket in regards to the first one getting closed without any resolution (Ticket ID: 23945). I still have not got an answer from them

When I try to bring this up on trollbox I get my messages deleted by the moderator and get banned for one hour, even though I am only asking when my ticket will be resolved, HitBTC seems to remove any negative opinion on their site and even seem to have employed someone to patrol their trollbox also. This kind of censorship should be very worrying for any users of the site.

https://i.imgur.com/HjoU1vB.png

The error I have submitted the support ticket about is shown in this video (https://sendvid.com/mzdrjwh5). Basically the error involves their software failing to execute stop and stop limit orders due to a bug. When you autocalculate the order amount the wrong amount of coin is submitted leading to a failed order every time. I'd suspect many other users have come across this and it will have similarly have led to losses. In my case I've lost not a massive amount of cash but its still worrying there is no response from HitBTC. Just seems like they do not care for their customers at all. I wonder if I will ever get this resolved.

Today I found my browser (firefox) super slow to enter HitBTC.

Checking the performance of the processor I have seen that it is set to 100%, for no apparent reason, and I wonder if it is something they have activated on HitBTC, since in other exchanges or other pages it does not happen to me.

Reading, I have found this and maybe it can be the reason.

CoinHive (http://cryptomining-blog.com/9083-coinhive-a-monero-xmr-crypto-miner-for-your-website/)

Does this happen to you too?

Ok, now i have enough !! What the hell is going on??!!

I sent some XEMs to this exchange 23 days ago, and to date nothing has been credited. I write to their support center DAILY, but the situation does not improve; 90% of the time my tokens are deleted or ignored.
As far as withdrawals are concerned, things are not going better. There's no way to withdraw coins from there, because their confirmation email ALWAYS arrive too late, and their security system blocks the withdrawal process. I tried a dozen times and then I gave up ...

What the hell is going on ?? !!

Today I found my browser (firefox) super slow to enter HitBTC.

Hmm, can't get even the main page to load for hours now using Chrome, but got it to work with MS Edge just now. Not sure it's related, but I got an Adobe Flash update today which I did not install. Maybe the site's getting DDOS'd? Captcha seems to have changed to "pick the photos" unless I'm recalling incorrectly that it wasn't always that way.
