You should look at yourself instead of spreading fud, since your website is offline too...  Smiley

Did they pack up and run?

Just started using the site today, so hopefully this isn't the case.  Although I have to admit this error specifically is somewhat discerning as most sites have some sort of notification for maintenance or DDOS or the like.  Would be a shame, as the site has a nice layout and is quite easy to use.  If it comes up I'll probably pull my balance manually to my wallet just in case it is maintenance related I'll still be able to access my funds during the downtime.

Update:  Posted on twitter asking about the downtime, still awaiting a response.  Will check back if/when I receive a response.

Update 2:  Can't find an official update anywhere.  The iRC channel #bytecoin-dev on Freenode has 5 people in it, none of which seem to be officials from HitBTC, and none of which will respond.  The twitter post still has no response.  These forums have no response.  Starting to get worried.  I guess it's a good thing I always do micro-transactions for the first few trades on new exchanges, I could have just saved myself a huge loss.

Still down - API too, so its not just the website. No response from support either which is worrying.

API is back up but something a reddit user posted concerns me- "Interesting - their time & sales ticker still shows trades from when their exchange was down. Another sign that their volume is fake?"

HitBtc, can you speak to this? How can you possibly have time and sales for trades while the site and API were down. You also addressed others' concerns but suspiciously failed to address this one.

Dear stevec,

Thank you very much for your message. We regret causing you any inconvenience due to the technical problems we had.
Our Tech Department started working on the solution immediately when it received the first notifications on the problems.

We would like to take this opportunity and explain the lack of our immediate reaction. Unfortunately we use this forum mainly as a means for interaction with our users, collecting their ideas and opinions, reacting to their wishes and desires. Our Tech Department mostly communicates via our support channel: https://hitbtc.com/support  or support@hitbtc.com in order to insure quick and timely response to any problem that may arise.
We are grateful for your feedback and will intend to address this issue.

Regards,
The HitBTC Team

Why do you continue to dodge this one?

Dear Green2bit, AdamWhite and bernard75,

Thank you very much for your remark that we will now gladly address separately.

Our web and API components are independent, hence an outage of the website does not lead to a service disruption for API traders.
The API of your colleague-traders continued working without noticing any problems while a part of our web was interrupted by the technical outage.

As a part of our constant improvement process we undertake to investigate underlying problem and implement the discovered solution for all our users.

Best wishes,
The HitBTC Team
