lol, was not bitcoin instamined? And many top contendors have been a bit premined. I dont get what the problem is, if there is 13,500,000,000 coins in total those 270,000,000 isnt really that much, its not enough to control the market anyways. But whatever, haters gonna hate right?
If you can choose, then why not choose a not premined coin? There are 10 new coins a day, the fair ones should take preference.
Comparing with established coins or currencies is a bit pointless, newer should be better, not the same or worse, otherwise let's just stick with the $

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Ok to follow up, one issue with the linux QT client as built - people might not realise that earthcoin.conf has to be in the same path as the binary otherwise it's not picked up and the nodes aren't added (no blockchain sync), so the build as shipped/packaged needs to address that. eieBPT5RpYqvT3drkSTc7Z4y9P5Qu7BKc9

OK some EAC now sent and received from the linux 64 bit client, all OK, man is this coin fast - confirmed balanced in about 1 to 1.5 minutes for me, nice. Transaction fees properly applying etc.

Because the premine is supposed to fund development. There is no incentive for a developer to continue support without compensation. You might work for free, but the majority of the world get paid for their efforts.

Now if the premine is used for it's intended purpose remains to be seen.

the trading on this bbs is very very trouble!
i surguest the devs chat with a small trading platfrom.like this:https://coinedup.com/
it's convenient to the investors and miners to buy or sell some coins.

my eac address:eTUZAd6wSNGLckVUmz49Mq6R3NamdMjiMX

come on baby ,i am a eac beggar!please throw your coins in that address.thanks
Big giveaways are already happening and have happened. I personally received 30k from the first giveaway, thx btw.  Developers should keep some of the premine for themselves though, it's much better that they can concentrate on actually developing than mining with the rest of the professional miners.

looks ok

We're getting some pools approaching half the network hashrate (it keeps fluctuating) - please can everyone try and spread the hashrate around a little for the security/safety of the blockchain. I've just moved pools myself, we need some other people to do the same.

OK, testing now completed on 32 bit linux client as well. Same comment regarding location of .conf file for nodes, but the binary itself is OK with all basic functionality (sending, receiving, address book, transaction logs etc) working, and again, coins getting confirmed into the wallets very fast.

66 page thread for a premined coin? The pics are nice and all but really?

A large proportion of the premine has been used for giveaway already

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=380010.0

There is no way that makes up a "large proportion of the premine". The Earthcoin account recently made a nice post about bounties but seemed to completely ignore the posts about setting up a public ledger of the premine coins.

Earthcoin, is this not something you are willing to do?

Apologies, it didn't go unnoticed, threw the comment at the team, discussing, will address when ready as it's sensitive and not something we'll just ignore forever nor address in one swoop. In short it's also exposing our bare ass re what strategies we take, who is involved for future moves, sensitive marketing moves, disclosing others ID who may wish to stay under the radar, maybe exchanges or sensitive relationships being out in the open for competitors to see, amounts for certain tasks... premine programme to last potentially more than a year or more so tons of audits with sensitive classified info all made public is probably not going to happen, but again that's just first reaction and few layers of thought pulled back, will discuss more.

This is great to hear that you guys are at least discussing it.

Setting something up so we can see which addresses hold the coins would be a great start, followed by a list of the various places they've been sent so far (bounties, giveaways etc with links to each).

This would go a long way to showing the premine is good intentioned and will be used to further the life of the coin.

I am under no illusions that development is something that can or should be done for free and am absolutely fine with the development team taking a cut for themselves when things start going well. It just really needs to be seen that you guys are using the cache of coins to increase the worth of the coin for everyone involved and invested.

Please let us know anything further you guys decide on and here's to the long future of Earthcoin Smiley
