Any of new blockchains have a chance to reach ETH cap if they fulfill all their promises. Such strong projects as EOS and ICON are the best candidates in my opinion. There're a lot of other blockchains with much smaller cap like Fusion, NKN, Seele, Yggdrash, Dfinity and others. But all of them are only at the beginning of their long way to glory. So I won't be surprised if this year becomes a year of new blockchains.

That is hard to guess cause etherum is very originaly if we talk about technological side of it but for me ripple or lite could hit 3rd/2nd place in future if etherum will make lot of bad movements.

No one really knows on which coins would able to pass up Eth into its current place in the market which is 2nd.Any coin do really have the tendancy to be replaced or surpassed on to those coins who are on the top which as a traditional saying which "nothing do last forever" where it means even Bitcoin can really be overtaken by other coins too. Mostly i do have high hopes for those projects which do have their own man net. Might not be similar to erc20 token you will able to utilize and understand on whats all about.

For me today could be EOS. I think they will change the meaning of crypto. But there are also other very nice projects that could replace EOS also (something like NKN)

In the next year or two, it is unlikely that it will be able to replace ethereum. But most of all as a direct competitor looks eos. Everything will depend on the development of this blockchain.

I stumble Credits and it seems to be going where Ethereum has gone stellar and waves are also a good candidate but I consider Credits to be a more likely not to replace ethereum but to compete ethereum in smart contract features, better check Credits to get more update.

Ethereum can do 10x of course why not? Just because it is among the most reputable owner doesn't mean it can't rise. Price can increase slowly but let's look at price of bitcoin which did more than 10x during last year and at the ATH so opportunitiea are here with giants as well. Although you can profit more from alts and there's no in denying that. I do believe in NEO as so far NEO seems to be building relationship with China government which means that if they push for it smart economy of NEO can be come very popular in Asia where ethereum might be seen as little for NEO.

I have always believed that the future of ETH is still growing in the future because the cryptocurrency market is just the beginning and ETH is the best altcoin I have ever trusted. The market will be more volatile but I think ETH is always a good investment channel.

There will be no the next ethereum, even ETC can do nothing to compete with ethereum. Ethereum is ethereum and it's the only one. Compared with new platform which only interested to copycats the idea and increase the capability of smartcontract and ethereum foundation can to it. Ethereum doesn't need any help from the new platform just like EOS is money grabber.
