Mining might not be too bright after today...

Looks like heavy manipulation going on with ETH.

All day there was an iceberg order on Bitfinex for ETHUSD and over $150 million or so were sold. Then there was a huge crash and now the shorts are lining up like crazy for ETH.

The Bitfinex funding rate was never this high before, somebody has some insider info maybe.

Once ETH profitability goes... so do the other algos.

My calculators are already saying less than $1 day per RX GPU.

ETH and XMR seems to be manipulated big time.

I have been adding more EOS and cheap ETH at exchanges at every major dips.

Almost all of GPU farm (177khs tuned) now is full on with Monero and NH-CN7.

@grchina - EOS may have its day coming mainnet launch but as far as adoption is concerned ETH is still the platform closest to a "Microsoft" today. I will be trading EOS for profits but investing long with ETH.

Monero is also looking bad.

Looking on the weekly charts the area it is right now $157 or so was major resistance back in 2017 and was very strong support in 2018 where it found support 3-4 times. Right now it's testing it a 5th time and with the descending triangle , it will most likely fail and break.

The daily profits on the Vega's and old Tahiti GPUs will tank big time.

Only coin hanging in there is ZEC probably due to the Gemini listing.

It looks to be the parent company:

"NiceHash users took to Reddit to discuss the breach and speculate on whether this heist was an inside job. The speculation fuelled by the fact that the majority owner of NiceHash is a company named H-Bit, owned by Martin Skorjanc, the father of Matjaz Skorjanc, convicted author of the Mariposa bot. The younger Skorjanc is also the CTO and co-founder of NiceHash."

It's Slovenian, which fits since NiceHash is based in Slovenia.... but I'm not very confident in it being safe since Nicehash hasn't had that show up before on their website (at least not that I have noticed).

It's still HTTPS their organisation name is showing that because they are using an extended validation HTTPS certificate https://superuser.com/questions/565422/why-do-some-websites-show-the-company-name-next-to-the-url

Browsers have started showing this info to try and stop phishing sites using HTTPS certificates which are signed by a completely unrelated organisation.

I'm getting ready to ditch long-term xevan mining and go full-ham on CN7.... with all nvidia I have left.   I think XMR still has yet to 'moon'.   If it keeps up with fighting asics;  its value should go up pretty high compared to history.

This CN7 FPGA that's up for sale....

I can't believe people are that gullible;  even if it is a legitimate thing..... gullible.    I mean;  83 euros just in shipping....   on top of all other issues I have pointed out in their thread.

Makes me curious....
curious about stupidity.

How are nvidia on the cn7 algo ? I would love to throw some of my 1080 ti on it as well but I had though it was overkill to use 11gb cards on cn7. I prob need to look into the right core and memory settings.

Hi Phil,

I ran it for a short period while the raven pool was down,   nvidia is still no match for the AMD camp performance when talking about cryptonight algos. (unless the OhGod team release something nice in this lane) Fairpool's calculator  fluctuates about 1.80-1.90usd per 1080ti, my Vega 56@64 do 1350h/s on the same (2.80-3.10usd) .

On a side note, Phil you are a legend, I have been following your threads since day one and getting involved into mining is largely due to the information and knowledge discussed here. Greatly appreciated!

I think FPGA's are more centralized than asic look at the prices their talking how many small miners can pay $4000-$5000 for one miner plus the algos their talking are going to crush these little coins I think it's a freaking joke ppl with their greed are turning cryptos into a circus

Yeah, I don't think mining Cryptonight v7 makes sense with Nvidias today.  It made sense $-wise for a few days after the fork, but not at the moment.

I just use the xmr-stak version I have compiled: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3264773.msg34028507#msg34028507

but im using it on 1070 and earlier cards.... I mean, all the way down to the 400 series;  since power is included with my space rental....

It may not make sense dollar per dollar as it is valued right now;

but....

it will make sense as time goes on as I see a true long term value storage in XMR compared to its earlier days.    They have proven they are trying to fight asics/fpga's, and that adds a huge tick to long term value in my eyes.

BTC is different of course for obvious reasons, but that's a whole different topic.

I see wavering profitability from the algos I have held true to over the last two years.

new ones seem to bite me in the butt profitability wise (had I not switched my gear to check profitability), and the previously reliable algos are seeming like there are some sort of unknown hardware bloating hashrate.

So, Ill still stick with my XMR plan;  I think it will be worth more as time goes on.   ~300 seems a touch low for its utility and difference from BTC.    I can see it used for personal micro transactions over some of the other coins out there.

Now;  I have personally never mined zec past a 2 hour test when zec was ~2 months old.    It never fit the bill for me;  I made 4x on skien for example.  It's not a blockchain I am willing to maintain.  My bandwidth at home is rather limited (cellular), and I don't want to deal with the exchange process personally.   I dont see enough people using zec for person-to-person transactions.  they are usually via a 3rd (usually internet) party.

Can someone point me towards a good equihash windows binary/source that is zero devfee and somewhat efficient? (bleeding edge not necessary, but I dont want antiquated)    If it needs to be recompiled with no devfee;  I may be able to handle that like I did with XMR-stak.

I don't want to switch to using SMOS....  A:  not gonna pay the fee for the OS for one machine;  and second, I am trying to keep inside windows so I can incorporate equihash into my mminer batch.    Sometime in the future Ill be giving SMOS a whirl; but that's when im done playing with these antiquated cards, fully comprehend all the nuances of ATI cards (getting there... made much progress), and i am buying a lot of GPU's to put into boards/rigs I have ready and waiting to be populated.

Sorry for the novel;  I finally had more than a few words to say Wink

i need a recompiled x16 miner myself, im solo mining some x16 coins but dev fees mining always fucking interupts And has cost me some blocks.  Anyone know any non dev fee x16 miners for amd and nvidia?

most of my rigs are on x16 now

p.s all are welcome to join my private pool, we mine raven 5 days and other x16 coins based on difficulty the remaining two days. 2.2 ghs in the pool so far and we beat estimates off all these scam pools like suprnova , etc

they might pay u a bit below your expected a day buy never the bonus blocks , ive doubled my rate of raven mined most days and with 1 min blocks  and the large number of blocks those pools smash. im convinced they are stealing

ill PM later.  now that my compiler seems to be working, im going to dig up the x16r source I downloaded to compile originally... I think it was an x16r.   Ill keep you in the loop as I figure out more.

im still out and about dealing with some things tonight.  Hopefully I can devote an hour or two.

also, zpool has a x16r port.

there are plenty of statistics on the site to compare how they are doing profitability-wise.

If the prog/pow that Ohgodacompany is proposing for ethereum to change to gets some traction GPU's will be the hottest hardware in town again. See link below:
