useful tip. my eyes got save
)
Dark mode does not save your eyes and here is why: The depth of field effect.When there is less light falling to your eye, depth of field is reduced. Cones (photo receptors) getting fatter and as the eye roams, the ciliary muscle must work to alter the curvature of your eye lenses, in order to to keep things in focus.
This implies that mostly dark screens appear to have better contrast (they do not as contrast is hardware dependent), the real effect is that it causes the eye to do more work than a mostly white screen because the amount of light entering the eye is less.
So in short term and especially over the long term a dark theme, relative to a light theme, will tire your ciliary muscle and cause your lens to stiffen sooner.
It is advised to use screen auto brightness apps and keep as much bright backgrounds as possible (for LCD screens).
"Urban legend" basically, a myth of potentially harmful nature.
