For those of you that would like to run miners on work computers or friends / family's computers without causing them problems, ive just coded and released a new stealth runner application. Will run any program and keep it hidden after the computer has been idle for a set number of seconds, then end the application as soon as the user returns.

Free market, sucker. They should have known better than to trust a family/friend with their property.    Roll Eyes

awesome way to get people to accept bitcoins into thier lives... NOT

I spoke to friends and family, explained i was onto something great and could I hire some gpu power from them(enough to cover thier power costs + a little extra), most from there did some research and said "nah, but can you set me up" so I helped them get going in bitcoins.
What you are doing is not being a friend to people that are friends to you, hope you and others like you sleep well at night :S

To me "stealth" sounds like something invisible to radar... like not noticing the increased heat/sound output. Not to mention increased power consumption in the long run.

The problem is that it still sucks down electricity.  75-100w for your average CPU, and 100-250w for your average GPU.  Having that sort of power draw 24/7 will make a noticeable impact on one's power bill, and your friends/family will have no idea what is using up so much electricity (or why their house is suddenly noticeably hotter in the computer room).

Whoever pulls this sort of crap on their family and friends needs to seriously reevaluate their priorities.

I think the hidden intent of this is for people to walk into a library and sudden have a CPU mining Network. LOL.

My buddy did this already, He's now going to do it on All the school computers, So far, 100+ mhash/sec he claims. i call Bullshit since it's all CPU miners, But hey, It's one big fucking library

? when i own the computers there is no problem with it.

i am not using this as a bot net. i used to have it run with startup, visible and on display and people would accidently close them or it would distrupt their session. I run an internet cafe of 10 computers... so dont assume everyones a bad person...

That's likely, backpedaling from "friends or family members" and how we are only talking trash cause we're "jelly", to you own all the computers you use it on.  Right.  Least you can do is be honest about your thievery, at least with yourself, don't justify it with 'it's only going when they aren't using it.  If I steal your car and drive 200 miles an hour, push it to its absolute limits, put wear and tear on its parts, and make you spend a lot more in gas, it's okay as long as you aren't using it right?

100MHash? Sounds like a complete waste of time. Especially considering the computers probably get wiped weekly.

Yes i also run this on my sisters business computers, with permission. also running this on my parents laptops, with permission. I didnt think that many people will be in charge of computers at an internet cafe so i didnt bother to state that.

Obviously get permission.

100MHash - hes doing it wrong.

definalty only using CPU mineing if hes getting that. GPU mineing would be 2/3GHash at least
