Thanks for this one mate. I will be pinning this thread. I am just curious if where did you find those books. Did you purchase it? I also don't know if it is right but i think giving credits to your sources might be the right thing to do. Unless you where the one who created those.

Hi my friend, I come from somewhere called the third world, lol. So, I got those books during my time to learn English. Additionally, I am not sure whether giving free-download links of those books are legal or not. Therefore, I will lock the topic and delete those links if admin or moderators say that they seriously violate copy rights rules, but for now, you can enjoy them! First I believe this is not a topic for meta section, most provably it belongs to Beginners & Help (Bitcoin Forum > Other > Beginners & Help) section because we are not talking about any forum issue here. 2nd, This really a great resource for someone who is trying to improve their English language skill. You deserve great appreciation for the collection. I am not sure whether giving free-download links of those books are legal or not.
- If these books are free downloadable eBooks then you have not done anything wrong. Therefore, I will locked the topic and delete those links if admin or moderators say that they seriously violate copy rights rules.
- Not sure what will be the judgements of the mods but I believe you are ok, you do not need to lock the topic now. |

Good links, OP, and I hope people here use them.
I think vocabulary is much, much less important than good grammar. You can be a great poster without using big or obscure words. As a native English speaker, I can appreciate when someone uses interesting choices of word combinations--but it's not necessary here. Gentlemand is a member who's an excellent poster, not because he is possessed of an enormous vocabulary, but because he is very witty and writes well. His posts are a pleasure to read, and he's only one example.
My suggestion would be to take a look at his posts and some of the members who've earned the most merits. Nullius is another one to learn from, as his posts are very thoughtful and composed beautifully. Also, even reading articles on Coindesk or the Wall Street Journal might help, if you can avoid plagiarism. And Jet Cash's site is a good place to practice.

The problem is more sophisticated to be solved by vocabulary/grammar books. It's a problem of culture on how to express information and for those using english as a third language they will always face problems choosing the appropriate word for their need (Ex; in french we use a lot of compliment expressions and describing things in a unique way that can't be used in english language). I also saw people accused in this forum and haven't the ability to defend themselves in english and even grammar and vocabulary courses can't save them. The key is to keep direct contact with english users and join english communities (practise the language as a culture) then to be able to interact with different forms of expressions (speech,post,comment,...) with better understanding. For non-native english users, taking english courses will help you understand complicated topics and longue analysis, but you still can make good posts in the bitcoin forum by simply writing in your first language in the appropriate board. Am facing the same problem expressing myself/thoughts in a very good english so hope i succeeded analyzing my point of view here  |

Yeap, the fact is the more vocabularies you get, the better skills on English grammar usage, the higher capability you will have to compose good threads, which are understandable enough to contribute to forum's discussions. I don't see demand to show up English slangs, etc. in the forum. The problem is more sophisticated to be solved by vocabulary/grammar books.
Of course, this is basic principle when learning English. Nevertheless, the forum users don't need to use perfect English to join discussions, to express their ideas to understandable threads. Thank you for this But i think that this will help those WHO need to improve their skills in English By this collection Beginers will improve thier quality in English Not only improve it but also ameliorate it They will be good in grammar , vocabulary ... and their language will be coherant I think that am going to dawnlod some books .  |

This is an interesting thread and hope members make good use of the information shared here.
Personally, I think that it has to do a lot with self motivation. If someone is motivate enough to learn , he can easily find the sources to learn. Personally, I think that Wren and Martin can be a good book for someone to start with.

It is a great books, but I am too lazy for them, I prefer not to force myself to learn, but do it in easy and natural way, by watching serials for exemple, or by simply reading this forum, it is obviously much longer way, but you'll never get tired from such learning Did you purchase it? I also don't know if it is right but i think giving credits to your sources might be the right thing to do. Unless you where the one who created those.
It is newer a crime to still for learning! (And also the same rule applies to video games). |

What an awesome thread. I've just downloaded a couple of vocabulary and the advanced grammar one and they are amazing books, thanks for sharing this!! I just realized I have many grammar misuses! I totally agree with The Pharmacist regarding grammar, and also, to watch movies is far from being enough if you want to learn how to write properly in English. I taught myself by reading some good books I used to read many times in my language and then I jumped into the English version and tried to understand them. That's how I learned 'till now, I think this is time to begin to study, but I didn't have the resources. Now I have them. So, Thanks!! |

Thank you for bringing it out. I'm Indonesian, happy to share my experience and how I learnt and improved my English skills here.
First, It's really hard for me to learn English because my lack is reading. I've only got elementary English skills and some vocabularies. I used sederet.com to translate some words or make a sentence in English. I'm on that site while chatting with someone. Second, I found Duolingo's app on Playstore. It's fun and the best way to learn English I think. But it still not enough to get in touch with Foreigners. Third, I met a Foreigner for a business (first foreigner I ever met). Unforgattable moment for me because I've got nervous and mind-blanking. I spoke with the Foreigner by using body language without saying no word. Pity!
The important things that we need to improve our English skills are read books, be brave to practice it, and learn from mistakes.
