Thanks 8fold,

Now I really have a problem. I can't find wiring instructions. What is Bitstamp account that I should send the money? I have a grandpa eyesight. Where do I find it? + some other questions in the picture:

Amount:
from my experience there are no fees for SEPA transfers

Comment:
a comment is optional (you don't need to fill one in)

Account Number & Transfer Title:
After you click "DEPOSIT" their bank details that you need will be shown. this includes a code that needs to go in the Transfer's Message (i'm assuming that's what you mean with Transfer's Title).

Here's what you need to do.
0. Go to SEPA deposit section. What are you doing at the international deposit page? Get outta there! You want to go to SEPA for EURO transfers.
1. Enter name and ANY amount. Note that it should be in EUR. It will take you to the next page, with the bank details.
2. Complete those bank details in your online banking site payment form. The online banking software should let you know exactly what the costs will be. Send the payment.
3. Back to Bitstamp. Cancel the deposit from step one.
4. Create a new deposit. This time add the correct EUR amount (without the fees, obviously, that your bank takes).
5. Wait ~24h

I don't want SEPA for euro (Bitstamp's bank EUR-> USD exchange rates are a robbery). I want international transfer - I am sending USD, not EUR!

2. Complete those bank details in your online banking site payment form. The online banking software should let you know exactly what the costs will be. Send the payment

No problem here although it should not be in EUR (I am sending USD) and the software will not tell me exactly what the costs will be.

3. Back to Bitstamp. Cancel the deposit from step one.

Cancel? Couldn't Stamp make it more complicated to accept funds?

4. Create a new deposit. This time add the correct EUR amount (without the fees, obviously, that your bank takes).

Create a new deposit? Who devised all this?

So the exchange is based in Slovenia, wire transfer in SEPA zone are possible and yet it uses USD as BTC counterpart? This is a bit awkward.

What are you going to use for exchange rates in EUR vs USD?

All received transfers are exchanged to USD by ECB daily rates http://www.ecb.int/stats/exchange/eurofxref/html/index.en.html
We have multi currency bank account and can accept USD and EUR deposits. Due to better liquidity we only support USD/BTC pair for now and plan to open EUR/BTC as soon as market picks up some momentum.

Your sincerely,

Questions? -No problem! Mail me nejc.kodric@bitstamp.net

I think its time for you to open EUR/BTC

Lookiz, do what you feel. Smiley I tried helping you. This is the way I do it, i live in EUR zone. I'm transferring EUR via SEPA (to be converted in USD by Bitstamp), and the steps I detailed are exactly how I do it.

Feel free to make it your way.  Smiley

I'm not Stamp's customer support. I tried helping "Daddy Loozik" because it appears I had a little more time than I needed.

Why do they even need so much stuff (id, bill proof etc). This annoys people. All of my friends have forgoten about BTC when they heard they have to deliver all that data to be conveniently stored in a database.
Why not do like Bitcoin.de? Just send a small quantity with a code to verify you own and have access to the bank account and thats it, stop asking for ID and so on, it's a pain in the ass and slow. BTC is supossed to make all of this easier and more private.

Blame governments for that, not bitcoin.

Also, bitcoin.de has a 5 bitcoin limit for non identified users.

I'm transferring EUR via SEPA (to be converted in USD by Bitstamp).

Bitstamp converts EUR into USD at Unicredit Bank rates which are very unfriendly (huge spread). It is cheaper for me to pay 0.1% fee on USD deposit then convert at Bitstamp rates.

A question to Bitstamp support: if I declare a transfer of USD 50,000 and you will receive only 49,950 (due to transfer fees), will it (amount discrepancy) somehow lengthen the process of crediting the account?

My mom sent them KYC info some time in early to mid November. Then she wired them $5,000 USD using international wire some time I think on the 15th of November. Bitstamp asked for more KYC info a week later, which has been submitted. It's going on week 4 now without the money showing up in her account Tongue

It will not. But if you forget to include your account's 'Message' number in the purpose(message, reference) of the transfer it may.

You wish. That is not legal under any law, so they have to ask for documents, and even then, if the goverment chooses that it is not reliable, they can close them down. They have to ask for everything like Paypal, otherwise bye bye

Update - they finally replied to the ticket, and said they will process the withdrawal soon.  I don't think that these people are running off with our money, but they are having some serious communication issues.

If/When I get the wire, I'll post here.

Update again - guys, I finally received the wire.  I wanted to be fair to bitstamp and not just leave any uncertainty hanging in the air.  Although I had somewhat panicked at first, things worked out in the end.

Good luck to all

Hazek,

I have one more question to ask (I apologize for being a nuisance): I entered your bank details (BACXSI22) but my bank's system keeps on changing your banks name from ''Unicredit banka Slovenija d.d.'' into ''BANK AUSTRIA CREDITANSTALT D.D.''

I am not sure I have it correctly but there seems to be two banks with the same swift code (both in Ljubliana): http://www.openswiftcodes.com/swift-bacxsi22

I have no idea what to do about it  Huh

I do want to send the money, but I am afraid it would go to the wrong bank  Smiley

Any comment on the Slovenia banking troubles? Should I be worried about my dollars on Bitstamp?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=173318.40

Edit: The bank used by Bitstamp (Unicredit Slovenia) needs to raise €14m.

Yeah, I'll comment:

ANY bank in the world is insolvent and needs to raise money. This is neither Slovenia nor Bitstamp's bank specific. Nothing to worry about.
