Dear Bitstamp users

Bitstamp’s exchange software is extremely cautious concerning Bitcoin transactions. Currently it has suspended processing Bitcoin withdrawals due to inconsistent results reported by our bitcoind wallet

Is this inconsistency in region of tens, hundreds, thousands or millions of BTC?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Maybe another Mt Gox this Bitstamp... the prices on Bitstamp looks like manipulation, after the ban to BTC withdrawals the prices remain stable.

Since usd withdrawals are working, I don't see this like a problem. It will resume as soon as  the btc programers issue a patch and update the wallets.

Bitcoin withdrawal processing soon

Dear Bitstamp clients,

A denial-of-service attack caused us to suspend the processing of Bitcoin withdrawals. Bitstamp, with help from the Bitcoin core developers, has implemented a solution that passes our preliminary tests and audits.

After additional testing, we plan to enable Bitcoin withdraws later today.

Thank you for your understanding!

Best regards,
The Bitstamp team

We are starting to manually send out smaller batches of withdrawal requests while monitoring the bitcoin client's performance. Once we are completely satisfied with the results we will move to fully automated processing again.

Thanks for keeping us updated in here, hazek.

You guys are handling the currently difficult situation pretty well, in my opinion.

Where can I download all historic trades data?

on bitcoincharts.com csv api but you cannot ensure data consistency when using bitstamp api to append new trades to that csv.
In October 2013 bitstamp team removed "since" parameter from transaction method.
Keeping data consistency in close to real-time requires a lot more support than on the other markets. With init 0.5% fee they should already have it done.

Dear Bitstamp clients,

After rigorous testing, we have restored fully automated processing for Bitcoin withdrawals.

Unforeseen incidents like this DoS attack against an edge case in the Bitcoin protocol are to be expected with such a young technology. The core protocol remains sound and the world has seen how these incidents are addressed by the Bitcoin community. Every challenge that is successfully overcome is a milestone that allows the world to grow their confidence in Bitcoin.

We recognize that for many of clients the inability to make withdrawals may have been stressful and we are thankful for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
The Bitstamp team

Larger BTC withdrawals work too, and extremely fast as well.

Here's your new slogan:

Bitstamp. How an exchange should be run. :P

What's up with BTC withdrawals? My withdrawal has been sitting at "Waiting to be processed" for well over an hour now. Don't recall it ever taking this long.

I've had to wait up to a few hours for withdrawals prior to the TM issue.
