Hello together,

I'm sure that at least one of you guys is a scammer and that this will end in a chargeback and a scam thread as always, but OK...
Just a tip for both of you:  Use an escrow service (trusted member in this forum), it helps you not to loose your money/btc Wink
Maybe you have to search a while because not many people who are offering escrow services are accepting Paypal as a payment method, but I'm sure you'll find one. The member who is doing escrow should be at least "Full Member", better "Sr Member" or "Hero Member"

EDIT: "Makapaka" offers very unserious services and things like this here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=387378.msg4170348#msg4170348 and in Spanish: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=387369.msg4170218#msg4170218

Cheers

Thanks bitcoiner222. I am not a scammer, but i know in a situation like this, it is simply just my word without much to back it up. I'm ok to use a escrow service, the issue (as you have mentioned) is the paypal factor. I really like paypal as I have used it plenty before and its fast, but finding a escrow that is ok with it is tough.

Hi,

I just wrote that one of you guys is a scammer and not that definetly you're the one who is playing badly.
Because of your love in Paypal Wink - Maybe have a look on the alternatives to PP. There are for example Skrill or Neteller. With both systems you easily and safe can buy/sell BTC without any chargebacks (they don't even offer this). Maybe you could register there for a parallel payment provider to do transactions with Bitcoins.

Cheers

Yes, I will take you up on that. Make sure you do a chargeback after you receive your BTC!

but finding a escrow that is ok with it is tough.

Your not going to find someone who is going to escrow you with PP. It doesn't matter who has the PP, you can always chargeback, in this case you'll just be taking it back from the escrow, so it's no different that not having escrow at all. PP trades require trust, and there aren't a lot of trustable users left especially not very new ones.

Well, this thread has turned out well  Tongue at this rate, i'm assuming I probably won't find a reputable seller who is ok with pp. Might as well go with coinbase soon  Undecided

Yeah. Scammers have had a real field day. Its frustrating when you simply want to buy btc with pp, but its nearly impossible because scammers have ruined it for all. So the connotation is instantly pp=scam. I've gotten a few messages for potential trades, but its either from people with negative trade feedback or people who charge a price 20-30 percent higher than market price.

My point with making this thread was to buy btc faster. If I go back through coinbase, it wouldn't be in my wallet until Friday (close to a week). However i'm starting to see it just might be worth it.......the price of btc hasn't been fluctuating that much, and going through a service i've had experiences with before will give me that piece of mind. I'll give it tell the end of the day to see if anything works out  Tongue

I originally had worked out a deal with "jimmyvance" (from a few posts above) on his terms, but he has since stopped communications by not responding to any of my messages....

Like others have said - make sure you escrow!  1 BTC is a steep price to pay for not securing your exchange!

Well, its coming up on almost 24hrs since i've sent payment to "MikeCorleone". And i've yet to see anything on my end? no communication from him since late afternoon yesterday...

What is going on over here? I'll give it a little bit more time.

Well before I make another purchase, i'd like to get this current situation figured out. I would appreciate the insight from other board members as well.

Made the deal "MikeCorleone" a few days ago, sent payment via paypal a little over 48 hours ago. Nothing since, no communication, no bitcoin. He hasn't even logged again since late afternoon on 12/30. I'm actually kind of surprised by this because he does have some trust/feedback.

So its been over 48 hours with zero communication from his end. I hate to use the word "Chargeback" as it is taboo here and everyone hates it, but what else am I left to do? Wait it out? for how long? or just get my money back and buy from the other forum members who are selling.
