Thanks for the tip on btc trader. Are they Trustworthy.

Depends who you ask. I've used them for about 5 months now and they have made every payment (every weekday except for bank holidays) and at the end of each 120 day term I have received my principle back. The website is clean and looks good. Their customer service is prompt and they have a facebook group in which several of the employees respond to questions and comments daily. They have also sponsored multiple major bitcoin conferences and are currently part of a cross-country (USA only) promotional tour. They are also planning to undergo and audit near the end of August, carried out by a London accounting firm (the CEO is based out of London). So yes, I think they are trustworthy.

If you look around the forums, you will see a lot of people calling them a HYIP scam, but in my opinion, most of these people have not actually investigated the website too closely and think the daily return is too good to be true or they are trying to promote some other competing website.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me. I feel like I shouldn't be clogging up this thread.

TY Derek. I myself talked to BFX owner Raphael quite a lot and therefore I am sure they are not scam. BFX has been the most reliable BitCoin Exchange I ever witnessed, even if compared to the uber-trustworthy bitcoin.de or very liquid bitcoin24 (who are long done).

So I value your insight about BitCoin Trader a lot, thanks mate. (if there are too many referral links in this text for your taste, you are probably correct =oP)

A past flexible swap interest calculator would be nice.  What is the cumulative interest for a specified time period?   This is useful because the interest rate can spike - so averaging it out would be useful.

For instance, I'd like to be able to calculate what interest rate I earned since the beginning of the month.

Just added it Smiley

Thanks!

Now I'm probably too picky, but why the 30 day max limit?  I'd like to calculate earnings from the beginning of the year.  I don't think it will be too cpu intensive.

I'd also be happy to use just an approximate daily average rate (and have a tiny bit of error) if that'd be easier to do and allow for a longer date range.

Well, I took the max period Bitfinex is allowing atm. I can increase it, have to check how much cpu it takes. but I might

You could fetch the historical results once and store them in a database (or even a flat file).

I changed the maximum period to 6 months.

Tracking the Bitfinex BTC price difference vs Bitstamp would be nice.  Though possibly too much work as it would involve a second API (and more of a matter for sites like Bitcoinwisdom).

Most of the time it settles down to a couple dollar difference, but over a week ago there was a $20-$30 premium that lasted for at least a day.

Maybe a bit late, but I've just added two new pages to the sentiment menu to keep track of price differences between the different exchanges:

  • a page displaying the BTCUSD 1 minute ticker prices of Bitfinex, Bitstamp and BTC-e
  • a page displaying the LTCUSD 1 minute ticker prices of Bitfinex and BTC-e

Hi all,

I've just finished a new landing page for http://BFXdata.com

The new page shows you an organized collection of the most important Bitfinex stats. Both for trading and for Total Return Swaps, all in one page so you'll have an instant overview of whats going on on Bitfinex at the moment (and for the last 24h).

hope you'll like it, let me know. Also suggestions for improvement are welcome!

Cheers Bjorn

ps. Maybe you'll have to clear your web browser's cache to land on the new page (I removed a redirect on the server) direct link: http://www/bfxdata.com/index.php

Question... What resolution/screen size is the site designed for? I'm not sure if it's scaling properly on my screen. I keep getting horizontal scrolls bars.

basically 1366px wide and higher (15" wide screen laptop). Also there is a threshold for full HD screens. I know on smaller screens it isn't looking at it's best.

I want to make the site more responsive but up to now I decided it be better to provide more stats, rather than making sure the sites looks ok on all possible screen resolutions. I will address this, just hadn't had the time to do so.

Great site. Could I make one request though - could you also make the raw data available to download (e.g csv format)?

thanks

Hi Steve

I'll add it to my todolist Wink thanks for the suggestion! BTW what would you want to use the csv data for? It seems you like to be able to do more analysis on the data. What sort of analysis would you do? Maybe the things you'd like to be able to do might be useful for other visitors as well an it might be worth adding as a feature to bfxdata.com. let me know.

A few reasons:

  • One thing is that it's a bit of a pain trying to use Highcharts to zoom into specific areas of interest. It's also sometimes tricky to see exactly what data points that you have. It would be easier and more flexible if you could just grab the raw numbers & chart in Excel.
  • Another idea would be to run some technical analysis on different series, and look for patterns/indicators. Quite what this is would be difficult to say until I find it.

Anyway - if you can add it, that would be great. In any case I sent you a small tip.

thanks
Steve

I'm going to ask the most noobish questions ever asked...I think I have the answers already but want to confirm.

USD swaps = loans taken by people who are going long?

BTC swaps = loans taken by people going short?

LTC swap = loans taken by people shorting LTC

and to go long on LTC again just a USD swap.

Is this correct?
