Yall need to hurry up and just implement the Solidcoin difficulty adjustment algorithm now.  Don't wait another few weeks!

Why use failcoin when you can use the real solidcoin ?

Everything ixcoin implements is a pale imitation of the real thing.

Bitcoin is an open source concept. It will have forks. Albeit way too early, forks exist. This does not make anyone a scammer any moreso than Satoshi himself. The only rwason you think Satoshi is not a scammer is because you weren't aware of Bitcoin before. It has existed in concept for ages. It has once taken the identity 'e-gold'. Bitcoin is unique as much as it is interesting. It's also yet to be proven as a viable economic model on a global scale. I'm backing Bitcoin while it makes sense to. If another fork that makes more sense to modern economic rules pops up, I'll use that. Ixcoin is an unsuccessful, uninteresting deviation. I see no reason to invest. That doesn't make it a scam, even if the motives of the author were to pump amd dump. As far as you know, those are Satoshi'z motives as well. Get real.

Also, good job hiding the true numbers by setting a time limit on the poll. I vote no.

This coming from the guy who was trying to be the bitcoin BBB? Lol

Yep. I learned a valuable lesson in that naive attempt to help the community from an authoratative stand point. A real eye opener actually. We do need something like it though (obviously), but I made a grave mistake In both preperation and presentation. That's why I handed it over to the Bitcoin Police to use however they see fit. They are way more respected and knowledgable about this community than I.

Now back on topic, I have yet to see a valid argument against new block chains and although I already mentioned I think they are way too early in the game to be taken seriously, they do have a use in this on-going Bitcoin experiment. If you want to complain about a useless and scammy subset of the Bitcoin community, why not talk about the worthless and degrading Ponzi schemes and spreadsheet games? I'd rather have a reporter state a fact about the community being 'confused about block chains' than a lie about 'Bitcoin only being useful for scams and gambling'.

It doesn't take a genius or a reporter to tell that premining 580,000 ixcoins then releasing the client is ridiculously a scam.

At least coinhunter put ALL 30,000 premined solidcoins up for bounties. Thomas did less than half of his 580k.

Picking on lolcats? Really?

Lolcats - Harmless fun involving cat pictures.

ixcoin/iocoin/solidcoin - Cynical attempts to make money by manipulating the dumb and greedy.

I don't see how any of these scamcoins are going to appeal to the cheezburgr crowd.

That doesn't make it a scam, even if the motives of the author were to pump amd dump. As far as you know, those are Satoshi'z motives as well. Get real.

Also, good job hiding the true numbers by setting a time limit on the poll. I vote no.

E-gold was backed by gold not encryption, it didn't share any code with bitcoin at all. It was a totally different implantation of a totally different concept. It was nothing like bitcoin at all.

IXCoin/IOCoin/SolidCoin are forks of bitcoin, although even that's overstating it. These people took the bitcoin source which they didn't even understand, trolled though it changing some default values, managed to get it to compile, and released it as a 'fork'. The binary SolidCoin client doesn't even run on a lot of systems because it was hacked by someone who really should never have been touching it. There is a world of difference between a knowledgeable programmer forking a project and producing something new and changing a few values in something you don't understand, recompiling, and telling the world you have a new super-cool crypto-currency.
