Is it Possible to mine from a seperate pc and a VM

Im trying to set it up so that my PC can mine on my OSX Paralells windows xp wallet. I have been unsuccessful in my attempts. Does anybody do this or anything like this?

The reason im not using my main PC as windows wallet is it seems to be having trouble with some of the new currency wallets.

Any help is appreciated.
