It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Monacoin is going to softfork from march 8.
https://monacoin.org/en/download.html

BIP68, BIP112, and BIP113 soft fork
BIP141, BIP143, and BIP147 soft fork
Activation for the segwit soft fork is being managed using BIP9. At the beginning of the first retarget period after segwit's start date of 8 March 2017 miners can update the Monacoin client to Monacoin Core 0.13.2 to signal for segwit support. When a super-majority of 75% is reached segwit is activated by optional, and if 75% of blocks within a 10,080-block retarget period (about 10.5 - 14 days) signal support for segwit, after another 10,080 blocks, segwit will be required.

I love monacoin community....
Please update...

sorry. I am not very good at English.

I found this coin a couple days ago and with all the news/activity around this coin lately i decided to BUY IN! At such low prices currently I look forward to watching my investment return large numbers. Thanks Devs for making such a fun coin!

I do have one question though, i find i am getting a decent number of booo's, is there something special i need to do in miner config?

Thanks!

It's depends on your situation.
Could you tell me answers for may questions below?
1. Solo or Pool
2. what software do you use for mining?
3. how do you set the config?

I pray your good monacoin life !!

Just to clarify on the legend for http://info.hattenba.xyz/75.html:
blue - supporting inclusion of both SegWit and OP_CSV
orange - supporting including of only OP_CSV
purple - does not support (or, more likely, haven't updated yet)

The pie chart updates once per hour.

Please update your client and set your version bits if you're a miner to signal support for this soft fork. Feel free to ask any questions.

Hope this is not a stupid questions. Why does Japan love Mona? Is it kinda like a DOGE of Japan?

It is interesting because I see popular Japanese exchanges list this coin beside ETH or LTC.

This time it's different.

In Japan, there are many people entering the world of crypto currency from MONA.
Amount of information is higher than BTC.

I entered the world of crypto currency from MONA too.
Japanese crypto currency community is interesting for me.
So I like MONA.

I assume, it is related Japanese internet history.
You might heard about "2ch", It is the most big bulletin board in Japan.
Mostly all of the Japanese people know this bulletin board and we are talking in this site quiet a lot especially about News and "minor hobbies"
When BTC became popular in the world, Japanese people doesn't interested in BTC because of English problem.
However, Mona coin has "Japanese manual" and  using "2ch character"
That character is really familiar for Japanese, and also Japanese manual was quit useful.
For Japanese, it is so difficult to use new things without Japanese manual.
So, Maybe because of that, Mona coin is still popular.

I hope this make sense to you.

FYI:This is 2ch character Smiley

I've updated this topic's detail page.
But Monacoin icon is disabled.
Maybe I need to post more to be a Jr. member.

By the way, Segwit status is around 55% now.

This coin seems like it is going to start picking up some more interest and volume. I already did it, but I think we should try to request the coin to Poloniex
