I'm trying to make an 8-bit bitcoin. That is, an expanded 16 by 16 pixel image of a bitcoin using only the colors available on the NES. So I have two things I want from you.
1) Suggestions (Mainly on how I should shade with such a limited palate)
2) Feedback on which one(s) you think look best

These are the colors that were available to the NES:


Here's what I have so far. There is no shading, because I couldn't find a way for it to look good with this palate. Suggestions appreciated.

I don't know much about licenses. What would be the most free license? I don't care what you use them for, and I don't care if you even give me credit. Well, as long as you don't claim it as your own. So not the most free actually.

As for giving it a faded gold look, do you think you could pick out a few colors from the palate in my first post for that? I'm colorblind, so I have trouble with faded colors.

I redid yours with a transparent background in png format (JPG's try to smooth out the edges, and we don't want that in this case.) Also, 2 different sizes. Thanks again for contributing. It's really hard for me to do shading and lighting due to my color blindness.

Yeah, if I had thought about it, I would have made it a .png .jpg is just my default output format.

I don't really like these ones either. I think I'm pushing too hard to try and be creative, but I'm having fun with it at least. I think I'll try and make that faded gold one that genjix wanted. Expect results to be disastrous because of my color-blindness.
