Ethereum is the most stable coin in the market for me as this was chosen by many companies as you said. but the down side of it was it is one of the target of the hackers which means it is prone to bugs and some major technical problems. Maybe if the ethereum devs have updated the blockchain of ethereum to a newer bug free and hack free system, no one can pass the marketcap of this coin next to bitcoin.
