This is the true fastest CPU miner i know:
Its open source and does at leas 30% more than the official QRK miner.

https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer

howto compile?:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer quarkcoin-cpuminer.git
cd quarkcoin-cpuminer.git
./configure CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
make -j4

howto use?:
Code:
./minerd -a quark -o stratum+tcp://prt.coinmine.pl:6080 -u USERNAME.WORKERNAME -p PASSWORD

good luck. questions welcome.
It would be cool if anyone could point out something similar for the quark GPU approaches...

regards,
will

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Hi PRT fans

What is the real price for PRT?

Quark first value was 0.00003 BTC

PRC: QRK = 1:4   ( prc 1000000000 coins ; quark 247000000 coins)

So first value of PRC = qrk/4 = 0,0000075 BTC.

PRT is better coin then QRK...so the price of coin will be 30% greater in start;
so PRC real price is 0,0000075*1,3 = 0,00001 BTC

Is this realistic price or (all PRT for 8.000.000$) ?

pls donate some PRT

There is no "real price", and until it's in the exchanges it's difficult to set a price, but I'm glad I didn't sell cheap my coins, if you read the details of the reward per block:

Block Rewards:
0-10,000 Blocks 50,000 coins
10,001-12,500 Blocks 25,000 coins
12,501-15,000 Blocks 12,500 coins
15,001-17,500 Blocks 6,250 coins
17,501-20,000 Blocks 3,125 coins
20,000+ Blocks 1,563 coins

We are close to the block 17k, so in just 1 day or so the reward per block will be only 1,563 coins compared to the initial 50k coins just some days ago, that means that this coin looks now much cheaper that it's going to be after a week or two weeks, because miners got many coins initially, so I would say it's actually good it doesn't hit yet the exchanges, because some people would just dump their coins and after some time regret.

Will be very interesting to see how much this coin will be worth after being on a decent exchange for a few weeks.

I think if this coin is hoping for a wide spread adoption, it should seriously think of a better name than "Particles".

For example, what about Electrum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrum

I think PArticles is just as good as Electrum and there is no real need for a name change here... Cheesy

What we need is a dev putting some time into this and a community promoting the coin, and above all, we need to end up at a few exchanges.

It is my firm belief that the future of CPU coins is bright, especially if there ever actually comes a Scrypt ASIC.

actually its hard to predict what will happen on the rise of scrypt ASICs. But I am very sure it will have a bigger impact on many Acypt altcoins. So going into CPU stuff a bit does not harm and its at least 50/50 chance you can make "virtual" profits Cheesy

- On the one hand Scrypt ASICS will make Scrypt AltCoins harder to mine so also more "valuable". And their network strength will gain rapidly. As we saw on Bitcoin, ASICs gave it a nice boost earlier last year.
- On the other hand it will drive away all their users that believe in the main "argument" for Scrypt AltCoins: That they can be mined by the average guy.

So infact, it may happen that many Scrypt altcoin miners turn their back on scrypt and go on to proper CPU/GPU approaches, just like Particle, thus making Particle stronger and more valuable or attractive. Right?

cheers,
will

I don't mean to "troll" because I'm new to Particles, but can someone please explain with bullet-points how exactly is Particle better than Quark?
If the story of Quark's insta-mine is the main reason, with the same token I can point you at the way that a select few are mining Particles with those free Microsoft Azure trials, (it is mostly for American card holders. Doesn't work for UK and many other countries) thus already creating a seriously wide gap between miners even during the first days of the launch - which is not what mining is intended for if you read Satoshi Nakamoto's original white paper.

If anyone seriously thinks that Particle is better than Quark, then I'll sell you my Particles at the rate of 4PRT=1QRK (8,000Particles=2,000Quarks). It should be a great bargain for you, given that Quark's price is crashing right now.  Anybody interested? PM me.

@ matrixfighter

I haven't seen any true reasoning behind the "it's better than Quark" argument... People just seem to blindly believe that it is! I'm not saying that it's a bad coin, and I'm sure that it has a great future ahead of it, but it's only a few days old ffs!
I'd happily take anybody up on that offer as well... 12K PRT for 3K QRK

Azure is most definitely available to UK card holders btw

I'll go in for 3K Quark for 12k PRT. Only because I don't own any Quark.

Anyone want to trade send me a PM.  Smiley

devs, you really need to do something about your website... it is really horrific! Just make a plain clean one that is actually readable. This will give you more credibility

Agreed, I think this coin has potential but.... that site..... really doesn't look very legit or credible. I'm thinking English might not be the devs first language maybe?

If this is the case I'd be willing to help out with spellchecking or... uh... "sense"checking, considering it barely makes sense atm. P:
