It's a great idea. However I have read elsewhere that creating a multiple-coin client is a great deal more difficult than just forking MultiBit to support different kinds of wallets. Unfortunately the reasons why it's supposedly difficult are escaping me at the moment.

I think seriously about starting development of MultiCoin wallet. Solving funding issue now. I think seriously about creation of funding project on bitcoinstarter.com or similar site to help with funding of this project.

Thinking whether it would not be good to create some introductory video to help with funding on bitcoinstarter.com or similar site to attract people and explain the features. Would somebody here who could help?

MultiCoin wallet is going to be open source project as was already written.

If there is any need for somebody to work on web design or write documentation or READMEs etc., I would be up for the job.

I've had some tiny (not exaggerating here, actually tiny) experience with programming in ObjC for the Mac, and am pretty comfortable with console-based C++ (no WxWidgets, Qt, etc., and that pretty much renders C++ useless for a project like this). I enjoy UI/UX design (most major platforms; every now and then, there's a platform so ugly I just can't design for it), so if you hit a dry spot there, I would be happy to help there.

Please reply to this thread or PM me for further inquiry. Thanks.

Hi
I'm no dev, but bitcoind frustrate me because it miss such basic feature.
Awesome if you can improve the user control.

About bitcoind:
- You cannot always explicitly control what it does.
- You cannot even specify from which key in your wallet you wish your btc to be sent.
- Also no warning nor confirmation-ask before it mixes all necessary address to reach x amount if 'not enough in 1key.
- (No choice either? about what is done with your bitcoin surplus when you send only a tiny part.)

Will need community support with donations to start this project. Or some other options if there are any. To be able to work on it full time. Thank you.

Yes. Yes.
Of course we're interested. :-)
Great idea!

Perhaps this may be of assistance:

Not to rain on your parade, this is already being done here: http://neuvira.com

Also not saying that a second wallet isn't worth while either...  Competition makes for good business

The link you mentioned is website. MultiCoin app will not be website wallet but wallet where all your secure information will be held only by person to who it belongs to.

Ah, thanks.  I guess I wasn't reading that clearly...

In that case, that would be awesome!

I fully support. If I could have one location to store all of my coins, instead of different wallets, I would be happy with the wallet!

If there were some secure way to trade one coin for another coin from the same wallet would be amazing.   Like a personal mini exchange built into your wallet. I guess you would need multiple wallets on the network working together as verification system?

Does this sound like another coin or system that has already been created?

This would make an AWESOME implementation into the MultiCoin Wallet: http://opentransactions.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

DOGE desperately needs a multibit coded wallet, blockchain is getting way to big for impatient people or those with wireless.
If you guys can do it, it would be huge Smiley
Multibit is fasssst.
